UPDATE: We've got about 214 dolls pledged and need 350 to even be able to donate to this organization. Deadline is October. If you know anyone that sews or plays with yarn, please help me spread the word! VERY simple patterns for each craft type is provided.
This past week a project whirled into existence and it's something really special! I created a doll pattern to use to create simple cloth dolls for orphans in Uganda. And a knit doll pattern was donated for the project (it's a really sweet knit gnome -- he's about 12 inches tall despite what the description says!). I'm rallying the crafty troops!
Here's info on the project.
Here are some of the dolls already created for the project. (I love them! I started very simple, and there's already some great ideas from other crafters!!)
And here is the pattern for the cloth doll.
And I found a couple of crocheted options as well. So we're equal opportunity.
