Well, I wasn't going to watch, but I just can't help myself. It's set up on TiVo now. I heard an interview with Simon on NPR the other day, and that was pretty interesting. So who is with me?

Oh yeh, I am with ya!

And I will undoubtedly have yet another "seasonal crush" on the ornery, but still somehow handsome, Simon C. during the entire escapade.

Dh is with ya. Its not my thing, but he'll be watching every episode he can catch.

5 hours and counting!

i'll be watching!

last year i picked clay aiken right away, i was so amazed at the VOICE that came out of that nerdy little body. clay & reuben were my favorites all along.

i didn't watch the first season but i hope this year has some great standouts from episode one. joe & i will pop popcorn & watch faithfully.

We're with ya, too! But thank goodness for the TiVo: we watch it about 10-15 minutes delayed so we don't have sit through all the cheesy Coke, AT&T and Fox commercials.

I heard part of the interview with Simon Cowell on NPR, and it actually sounded very interesting and minus his usual arrogance. Maybe the elimination of the visual aspect (him seeing himself on the monitors) took away some of that???

By the way, I'm totally nosy and try to find out who gets eliminated each week before the broadcast in our area (grrrrr..... Pacific Time Zone), so if anyone wants to foster my curiosity and be my new best friend , I love spoilers!

well, I'm on the west coast as well, and HATE spoilers! But I guess as long as they are not in a subject line...

I can't wait... I love the auditions. Sweet Simon.

So glad I found this thread! I am totally addicted to AI! Now that I am a SAHM I don't have all my friends at work to talk about it with. And I hate spoilers too.

Do you hate getting them and/ or giving them?

Shoot, was it supposed to be on tonight? My TiVo didn't get it. My husband messed up, I think. We've fixed the problem now and we're a go for tomorrow. My husband thinks I'm absolutely insane for watching this show.

Turbo, I LOVE giving spoilers , I just HATE hearing them!

Amy, why does your husband think you are insane for watching it?

What I hate are the commercials. They are all geared towards teenagers and it makes me feel like I'm too old to be watching. But hey, my 70 year old gramma loves the show!

So what did you guys think? I thought it was okay...I really really like the funny looking redheaded kid.
I liked the red-headed guy too, and we loved the chick with the scooter.
The end of her scooter song had us laughing...she was definitely original!
Dd, MIL and I watch too....gotta love Simon...Randy seemed a bit more "simon" like to us....
I liked Scooter girl too...and the guy who sang the old stuff..was that the red head?

Is it on tonight too???
Or next Monday??

Thanks!!
I seen the episode tonight and then they said something about tomorrow too...holy....3 nights in a row!

Tonights wasn't as good as yesterday....still good though.

Dh and I thought it was great that during the Atlanta auditions they stuck in a clip of Keith from last year (the "Like a Virgin" guy). He's our favorite!

The other highlight was the hottie who sat next to Paula to sing. She was right--he's going to make all the girls swoon!

Tonight's (Wednesday) the last night of showing the auditions in the cities, and next week there will be shows on Tuesday and Wednesday of the semi-finalists in LA. We should get to see some more good singing next week!

I'm having a hard time watching all the bad singers this time around... well, some of them at least... it is painful to my ears...

Happy Idolizing!

I'm loving AI so far.

I'm sure that girl that lost 80lbs to get on the show was a faker though. There is no way she and her friend were serious.

How do some of those contestants keep singing when SImon and Randy are cracking up at them? I would start crying!! I certainly wouldn't keep singing. But then, some of them must be the most self-confident people in the world to even go for the auditions thinking they can sing!!!!

Did anybody see the interview with Simon on Fox today? He said that this year a lot of people were coming to the audition to purposely sing badly just so they could be on tv. What a waste of time! I mean those people have to wait in line for like 3 days!
