Help! My pockets have started repelling!

My DD recently had a terrible diaper rash and so I broke down and put some rash cream on her. The cream I used was supposed to be fine for use with CDs (I used Grandma El's) but now my diapers which were fine before are not absorbing ANYTHING. My DD pees and it just runs out the sides. I poured some water on them and it just pools on top. They are completely repelling everything. My prefolds are ok, but my BumGeniuses and FuzziBuns are a wreck. Should I strip them? What would be the best way to do that? Any advice?

My MIL got Destitin on my Fuzzi Bunz once. I had good luck handwashing them with blue Dawn dish detergent. Just wet them in the sink and lather your hands and scrub the fleece or suedecloth with your fingers really thoroughly, then rinse and dry. Once they're dry, test by pouring water on the diapers to see if the repelling has stopped, and repeat wash if necessary.

Like PP said, Dawn can be really helpful, as can multiple rinses on really hot! When this happened to my friend, she stripped hers in the dishwasher.
