i'm thinking when the author describes the so called hot pockets that are outbreak potential...

i don't know how to feel about this.

we do not vaccinate. have thought about possibly vaccinating for specific things in the future. depending on what "could" come around. no regular flu shots or anything though, either.

do you think an article like this is put out to scare people into vax'ing or isolating themselves, so that they do not become a more visible sector of society...

i'm kind of leaning towards thinking that of course you're going to find outbreak among people who are not vaccinated. but last i checked measles and mumps weren't that terrible. was whooping cough?

i guess i could just google a lot of this info...but i want to hear experience/thoughts as well.

There is a lot wrong with the article. And they give no sources. I do think they are always working to sell more vaccines.

There is no way an article like this one can influence my decision to remain vax free. (I have 4 grandchildren who are vax free also.)

Herd immunity does not appear to protect children whose parents refuse to have them vaccinated against pertussis, a case-control study showed.
Duh. It doesn't prevent transmission.

They looked for children who had laboratory-confirmed cases of pertussis...
Well that's just stupid. Lab-confirmed cases are such a small amount of the actual total.

... this study "is proof that their kids cannot hide in the herd."
OMG! Are they admitting herd immunity is a crap theory?
