Help me figure this out...

How are prefolds that are 4x8x4 easier to dry than a fitted diaper with 8 total layers? I am going to be making some of both but I can't figure out the logic.

Well prefolds(CPF & IPF) are 8 very thin layers. Whereas fitteds are made w/ thicker layers and have elastic that keeps the diaper somewhat bunched up. If you make the layers of the fitted separate, like 3 layers in the body, 3 layers in a soaker and a 2 layer doubler then it shouldn't take any longer to dry. It also depends on what kind of fabric you are using.

I'm using all flannel. I have so much of it that I think I can make my entire stash without buying any fabric.

I would really recommend what the pposter said the thicker fabrics like flannel REALLY like to retain wetness so that also makes them more difficult to dry.

Have fun making your stash!

less compression, less seaming, pf have a looser construction overall. super easy to line or dryer dry.
