I've bought and sold there. It's just like anyplace else, some people are honest and some people aren't.

Yep. I buy and sell a lot. I've never been scammed but I have been disappointed a few times. But overall, I'm very happy with the stash I have from there.

Most of DS1 and about half of DS2 stash is used bought off Diaperswappers. I haven't had too much trouble buying and selling there.

I've bought and sold. I've found buying less of a hassle than selling.

I have bought. It went fine. I got a great deal on very used fuzzi Bunz with staining for super cheap. Staining doesn't bother me at all- my kid poops on thema fter alL!

The main comnplaints I have heard are:
1. Sometimes people want crazy amounts of money (esp. for wool)
2. Everyone describes everything as EUC- so you really need to see detailed pics, and not trust their description.

I've bought as well--never sold--and had good experiences. I agree with a pp the wool things can be crazy expensive.

I buy there pretty frequently. If you look hard enough/wait long enough, you'll find some awesome deals. I'm always on the search for bargains there and have only bought things that were in very good condition.

buying used: it is wise to deal with someone who has transaction history.

buying new: I would not buy from someone who just popped up, does not have an investment of a store, business license and all the other bells and whistles of a business that keep the integrity in check. Six month in business displays commitment and leads me to believe I am safe in a transaction. Be it at DS, or any other location bringing forth WAHM items.

When the understanding is nurtured, the perspective of wool and its cost to bring it to market become clearer. The numbers seem far less impacting with information. In reality, wahm wool products are usually superior/premium quality yarns, with custom hand dyed colorways, often time handspun. Buy that baby in a store and you can expect DOUBLE you wahm cost. Just putting a little spin on the real value of wool wahm item.
just for the record -- i don't knit a stitch.

I ask what laundry detergent is used.

I only buy new diapers or diapers just washed.

I buy from people with several ratings.

If I send diapers, I make sure to keep tracking numbers.

I only accept funded paypal.

It's a good resource for building a stash at a discount. When I'm done cloth diapering, I intend to sell my diapers on diaperswappers and recoup some of my investment.

I was the one who said wool can get crazy expensive. I knit DS a soaker so I know how much work it takes (and I got the yarn for free!) I am referring to:

"Wool longies, 120$. I paid 140$ for a custom spot with WhoeverPopularKnitter. My kid has only worn these 2 times. I paid an arm and a leg for custom longies that apparently are too good to be pooped in. But go ahead and save yourself 20$ and let your kid poop in them"

I made that up in case you couldn't tell. But yes, I do think the people who buy custom wool, put it on their kid twice, and expect to recoup it, are

I've bought a few times, currently in a dispute now on some dipe covers I paid for the beginning of the month and haven't received yet. :

Other than that I've had good experiences

I've sold a million things and traded a million and 4,

I prefer to 'do business' with mamas that I "know" ie, ones that I have seen post in places I hand out! Its a lot smaller there then MDC and you get to know the mamas.

That's what I meant as well! I saw some longies that were selling used for $140 the other day. Were they gorgeous--yes! I knit and appreciate all the work that goes into them--but man--as a momma on a budget wow!
