Hi-I'm trying to find either an RE school, or an RE trained nanny for my 3 year old son in Dallas TX--preferably around Flower Mound, TX. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find one or the other? Thanks!

The only school that offers a "Reggio Emilia Approach" that I know of in the Dallas area is now a Montessori day care called Coppell Creek Montessori.
http://www.coppellcreekmontessori.com
My son went there for 6 months from late 2007 to early 2008. Unfortunately the school was undergoing a management change at that time (and a curriculum focus change from all Reggio to Montessori/Reggio). My DS was very attached to his morning teacher and she was let go for informing the director that a class was out of ratio
: . To make things worse, they let his teacher go with no plan to replace her... so my son didn't have a class to go to any more. His class go split up and lumped in with other classes throughout the day. He was devastated and I was very, very displeased with the poor management.
I can tell you that the director seemed most interested in adding more kids to the school without regard for legal ratios... Tuesday and Thursday mornings were insane with 2 teachers (not the kids' regular teachers ) checking in a playground full of students on a clipboard. It was a zoo.
We left in disgust in April 2008.
However, to be fair, things may have calmed a bit since we left. The facility is very nice... probably the best feature. And Coppell is close to the eastern portion of Flower Mound. Might be worth a look.

Hi there-I found that school through research and contacted them but haven't heard back as of yet. I'd be most interested if you knew how to contact your son's former teacher? She may be interested in a nanny position that probably pays as well as they did there. It is tough--Friends of ours in San Diego have a nanny that employs the RE approach and their son is doing wonderfully with her. I wanted to offer the same to our son vs the college student babysitter:"nanny" that he currently has. I also have him at Spanish Schoolhouse 2 times a week, but am not ready to send him full time--he'll be turning 3 end of June. If you know how to contact his former teacher that would be great information. Thanks!
