My baby is born!

I'll post more as I have time but...
Marius Victor was born this morning at 1:09am. He weighed in at 7lbs 13.9oz and measured 21 1/2 inches (think they said 54cms) long.
He's blonde and very tired. Was posterior and I had to have help in delivering him (vacuum). He isn't opening wide to latch properly yet.

Congratulations! I'm so happy your baby finally arrived. My Julian had a bit of a slow start too but figured out latching and nursing quickly; I hope for the same for you. :

Congratulations! And don't worry about latching...it takes my babies about a week to get the open-wide thing on their own, until them I'm usually hoisting their mouth open. ;-) He'll get the hang of it.

Congratulations JR!!! I hope he learns his latch quickly! Violet didn't want to open up at first either, it made for some sore nipples. Happy babymoon!!

Hooray! Welcome Marius!
I'm so glad things went pretty well despite the posterior position. My LO didn't didn't want to open up until just recently either.
I hope you have a fabulous babymoon!

Thank you all.
I'm having a nice little rest at the hospital. Starting to feel like my body is my own again and not just something that went through a meat grinder. This labour was incredibly intense, but you'll hear all about it when I manage to get my (Marius') story written and posted.
We're waiting until I get home to upload pictures. DH was busy taking some today. The nurses were considering sending me home today, but I sort of asked them to keep me til tomorrow because I know what waits for me at home. DS2 is feeling very sad and I'm not feeling quite ready to tackle tandem nursing yet, though we sort of tried this morning while he was here. Marius and I are still learning to work as a team on this latching thing. He had his first really good feeding this afternoon on my problem side (though I still have to do compressions to get the milk out to him) and latched on great on DS2's (our?) favoured side. So that's promising.
