Potty training-pullups?

Hi Ladies. DS is finally in full blown potty training mode and he's actually doing very well. I need some suggestions for trianing pants (with PUL) though. He can pull the pants down so I'd like to avoid snaps on the pants. Also, money is tight, is there anything out there that doesn't cost 25 bucks each? Has anyone ever tried the scotty potty pants http://www.pottyscotty.com/PS-Waterp...ing-Pants.html ? I don't mind bubble butts, we've been cloth diapering with prefolds for over two years now so clothes are big enough for extra fabric underneath.

I used regular underwear trainers from Hannah Anderson (not sure what PUL is). Right now they're on sale 6 bucks each

The HH trainers have PUL and they come in snaps, snaps on one side or no snaps. They are a little poofy, but you can stuff them with whatever you need to so that you can still customize absorbancy. For later in the potty learning stage where there are just the light accidents, I love the Imse Vimse trainers. They are super cute, trim and still absorbant.

Happy potty training!

I like the IV trainers a lot. I'll also double up 2 pairs of Gerbers sometimes or add a wool cover over the top for extra absorbency/protection.

Thank you for all your input. I'll check out the happy heinies and ImseVimse.

I have really loved the Bummis. Size medium worked just fine for my long, lean toddler wearing 3T & 4T. They hold up with an accident. The Imse Vmse are trim, but not as tolerable of leaks.

The closest thing to underwear I've found is the Starbunz super undies. DS did not like the HH at all, they were HUGE even sizing down. They would be find during the day, but always leaked for us at night. We are day learned though, we just haven't gotten night yet. I like the pocket in the SB, and that they fit like underwear.

Well, I have decided to go with regular Gerber's instead. If we do get out and I think that he might pee, I put an old large Dappi cover over it and that works just fine. He's doing pretty good though, not peeing while we're out.

I did want to suggest if you need any more - I LOVE batikbum on Hyenacart, as well as rockstarbabywear on hyenacart (only about $10/pullup - just e-mail her for customs because she doesn't have any instock).

I did use the plain cloth gerber trainers and after a few washes I was surprised by how much they absorbed.

I think gerber makes a trainer with a plastic? layer on the outside, I saw them at Kmart.

I do love my Imse Vimses tho'. totally worth the cost.

I just put dd in regular undies and carried a couple of changes of clothes... We had surprisingly few accidents even on long outings. She is still in a nappy at night.

Happy Heiny's makes trainers for a long time.

My boys went almost straight from diaper to potty in one to two weeks. I don't even think I got much or any wear from the generic pull up trainers we used.

I use a mix of iPLay swim diapers and trainers. They easily pull up and down. Are about $10 each (or half that at KidSurplus.com). They are somewhat absorbent and hold in accidents well.
