How will you/did you tell your SO?

I bought a "I'm the big sister" shirt at a yard sale and put it on her today. The letters are BRIGHT pink, like neon. We had a fire this morning (in our building) and Valley (dd) was running all over outside and John (dh) didn't notice yet!! I even took a nap and he STILL hasn't noticed!!

Tomorrow or Friday I'll make a "MY MOMMY IS PREGNANT" shirt for her. see how long that one takes.

I just showed him the pee-stick.

So not original.

I tried to wake him up and it's a no-go. He works nights. So I put the positive digital test on his keyboard.

But I think he knew because he kept coming into the bedroom while i was sleeping last night and staring at me and kissing my forehead, LOL.

I got one of those greetin cards from CVS that plays music....the card said "Happy Birthday," which didn't make sense at all....but the music that played was a jazz song that has the refrain "Go Daddy-O" so I couldn't resist. I put the pos digital test in the card and wrote a note saying the card would have been perfect if it said "congratulations!"

The whole idea was very cute in my head, but DH was so thrown off by the "happy birthday" on the card that it ended up being confusing. If only I had put a sticker over it!

Anyway, once he "got" it, we had a little make-out session:

Hmm...well, I didn't want to tell him yet...wanted to wait until Father's Day...but I had an appointment with my personal trainer today and I HAD to let her know so we could modify my workout a bit, and I didn't want my trainer to be the first person who knew, so I had to tell him. So we were talking about his brother and how he wants to call him about something going on in the family, and how he wanted to be able to call him about something to breach the conversation, etc. I handed him the stick and said "Why don't you talk to him about that?!?

Bwahahaha!

I had my 2 year old dd go and give the pee stick to my husband, who was across the house. He yelled, "Is this real?!" Well, I don't know how I'd fake that! He was happy about it, thank goodness. I thought he'd be a debby (davey?) downer but he wasn't.

I'm another who just stuck the stick (and my cell phone for light!) in his face! I was too excited to wait

Plans didn't quite happen....

I had all these cute plans...a now you are a daddy book, tying little baby shoes to our dogs collars. Ended up that we had plans for dinner with a good friend from back east...couldn't see him beforehand and didn't want to tell him over the phone! But I needed his help to hide the fact I wasn't drinking my wine (the friend is one who monitors me closely...she wants us to have a baby as much as we do!!), so I had to tell him really quickly when she left the table.

Luckily, we were at our favorite place in town and having the secret with someone else sitting there made it sort of fun. Ah, the best laid plans.....

I tried to wheedle my way to my aunts house so I could breakdown without him seeing (I was so scared at first that he was going to be upset because of some plans that were long in the making that I was worried had been ruined) but he had to leave for work in an hour and I just couldn't imagine not telling him before he went so I told him all the while I was hyperventilating and sobbing and instead of him freaking out he got excited!

Yeah blew me right out of the water.

I woke up at like 5:30 am, knowing I was going to POAS and even though I *ordered* myself to go back to sleep, I couldn't so I finally gave in and got up and did it. Needless to say, DH didn't feel the urgent need to get up, so I left the positive on the closed toilet lid (because he always ALWAYS pees first thing). He came out of the bathroom and we did a happy happy joy joy dance together.

If I can wait two and a half more weeks, I was thinking of a card that says, "Happy Father's Day from all three of us!" (Me, DS1, and new baby will make three)

Laughing at how things went down in our house this morning while I took our test...dd (20 mos) doesn't let me go to the bathroom without her so she watched me pee on the stick & said peepee (1st time she used it properly)...the lines showed up pretty quick & I started to cry because I still haven't lost the excess weight from the 1st time around & have been so down about it...she looked at me & made her sad face & put her hand on my leg & then followed me out of the bathroom to where dh was sitting & climbed up on my lap & hugged me...such a good little girl!

Dh was surprised & it took him a few minutes to adjust but then he said he wanted to tell his family when the time was right by putting a Big Sister shirt on her...cute to hear him say that...

I just got my first of four BFP's last night and finally confirmed by my dr's office this afternoon. I am going to tell him tonight... I bought knit white booties and tied a note to them that says "These booties are made for walking and that's just what they'll do...Sometime in early February 2010 these booties are gonna walk all over you!!"

I'm sitting here waiting for him to get home so he can find it!! The suspense is killing me!!! LOL

PS - I don't want to change my signature just yet as I am still very weary of my BFPs...I should have my blood results back in the next few days and then I'll officially join the Feb 2010 DDC...My EDD is 2/10/10 (Isn't that a cool date?!)...

I still can't get a positive on a test, even though I feel strongly that I am pregnant and I am two days "late".

But, I am in no rush to tell DP that we are expecting. We are working on our relationship and trying to reach a more committed, stable place, and I want us to do that a little while longer before I tell him the news.

But, my EDD is 2/9, and my DP's birthday is 2/16, so I am going to wrap the test (whenever I get it to show up) and say - hey, you are getting something really cool for your 30th birthday - wanna hint?
