white spots on tomato leaves...dry crispy ends

Any idea what this might be. It seems to be effecting most of them.

White/pale yellow patches on my tomato leaves - and on some of them the ends/tips of the tomato leaves are turning crispy and falling off.

sounds like early blight to me...also could be a fungus, but chances are it's blight. the plant won't survive if it's too far along. you can help it by removing all the diseased leaves, but in my experience they still go downhill...how many are affected?

If you just put them outside or if they are still tender, it could be sunscald or windburn which will fix itself in time.

These links are pretty helpful for diagnosis:

Ack...it does look like it might be blight.

We hardened off the seedlings...and planted them. DH set them up on a timed sprinkler - I tried to tell him we needed to use a drip system.

What can I do? Am I going to lose them all? At least 80% are effected.

you might be able to save some of them by cutting off the affected leaves and branches. mulch really heavily around the base of the plant and only water from the base. tomato plants are one of those plants that really hate it when their leaves are wet, plus watering from above can make the dirt splatter up on the leaves which is where the blight comes from.

"if" you can save any of the plants, after you harvest do not use that spot for any other nightshade plants for at least a season, preferably 2. we had late blight one year and they took down the entire crop.. good luck!!
