Segment-wise, pediatric vaccines presently dominate the global vaccine market but adult vaccine segments will define the future direction of growth. The cancer vaccine market, led by cervical cancer vaccines, is presently one of the most lucrative areas for vaccine manufacturers. Overall, cancer vaccines are expected to account for nearly 27% of the total vaccine revenues by 2012.

Owing to lower margins and the mature nature of these markets, the basic and enhanced pediatric markets are expected to show stagnant growth in future. On the other hand, launch of a number of new vaccines will make the addiction, cancer and proprietary pediatrics/adolescent vaccine market highly dynamic. On a whole, the global vaccine market is expected to register revenues in excess of US$ 30 Billion by 2012.
bolding mine

Not news to some, but well worth reading if you want to see which vaccines are expected to be on the schedule in the near future.

What?! But I thought the pharmaceutical industry is nobly struggling along, just barely making ends meet, in order to bring us new cures for debilitating illnesses! After all, isn't that why you aren't supposed to buy generics?

Look at that it costs $2000 to buy the report.

Cancer vaccines, what a sham and a shame.

They know that they've come to a point that they've saturated the pediatric market. Parents who never gave the schedule a second look before are beginning to question the bloated pediatric schedule. My guess is that's what they mean by "mature" nature of the market.

So they're moving on to teens and adults. Get ready for the onslaught, mamas.

Yeah really since it's us anti-vaccine folks who are making it harder for the poor manufacturers to turn a profit... boo hoo.
