Uh, yea. Brick & mortar is preferable, but willing to order. I can drill my own lids, correct?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

A little farting around & I found this site:
http://www.homebrewit.com/aisle/3040
Cheap stuff & I don't have to buy expensive jars.
Can someone tell me exactly what I'd need? Do the "rubber stoppers" take place of the grommets?
Any other good sites that sell airlocks & grommets not in an expensive kit? I read on another beer making forum that ACE hardware sells grommets, but probably not airlocks...

So funny to see this thread this morning! DH went to the local beer/wine store last night (they're all over around here--love the NW!) and bought a rubber stopper and airlock. He took a plastic canning jar lid, drilled a hole and it fits perfectly on a quart or 1/2 gallon wide mouth canning jar! I'm really looking forward to making fermented green beans minus the mold!
Once we're done testing them, I'm going to have him make a bunch for our website but if you have a drill with the right bit size, it was super easy to do!
ETA: It looks just like this http://www.simply-natural.biz/Picklemeister.php except it's a smaller lid on a smaller jar. I need to find some plastic gallon jar lids.

You know, maybe I'll just order the Picklemeister - I'd probably spend that much on shipping & this way it's all put together. Unless I have a brewing store around here...
Hey, let me know if you find plastic lids for 1/2 gallon & 1 gallon jars - I haven't been able to find them anywhere. TIA!

You know, I thought that as I was laying in bed - that the quart size, wide-mouth lids would fit.
