can I eat the bones?

I just made a rocking chicken stock, its super yummy, but a lot of the bones are the tiny spine bones and I don't think I will be able to pick them all out. They are so soft at this point, they are crumbling with very little pressure. Is there any harm if a few stay in the stock and I eat them? could it actually be good to eat a few?

I usually strain my stock through a colander, then pick off all the meat and toss it back in, and throw away the bones.

There are fine to eat. Many different cultures do this. I am not sure why Americans don't seem to but I have been reading about from several different sources.
