My birth at Special Beginnings was the most positive experience of my life. I had some complications- water breaking 3 days before ctx with light meconium, but it was treated with...
My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...
This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...
This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...
I'm looking for a new midwife in NH. I carry state insurance, so someone that accepts that is ideal. I'm unsure of homebirth or birthing center....
So who have you used (and recommend)????
:Jeanne Browne at Concord Birth & Wellness Center! : Absolutely adore her - she's a fabulous, intuitive, just all-around awesome midwife. I've had 2 of my 4 kids with her - she's wonderful! She has a freestanding birth center in Concord, and also does homebirths, so you'd have both options. And I do know that she definitely takes state insurance.
I agree with Baby_Makes_5!! We're with Jeanne and Kate right now, and we LOVE them. The center is really cozy if you decide for that. Also, we were told about Jeanne after my friend delivered her 11 lb son, vaginally, at home with a complication of shoulder distotia (sp??) with Jeanne -- no problems. We have complete confidence in her. There is another midwife-- Cilia Bannenberg who we've heard great things about. She's in Barrington. And actually-- you probably know about this link: http://www.nhmidwives.org/find.html But there it is for a quick resource. Good luck!!
Oh Jeanne Browne is the best. I've used others, and none of them were as comfortable a fit for us as Jeanne. She's passionate about her job, laid-back, resourceful, and very capable (she handled my surprise breech homebirth like a pro). I've recommended her to 4 of my prego friends in the last year and they all love her! You can PM me if you want to hear more about her or other experiences. Good luck!
Mary Lawlor caught our son, and we all loooooooove her
She does homebirths in Vermont and New Hampshire,
has a birth center right outside Keene,
and she accepts insurance!
I second Mary Lawlor. Her birth center is gorgeous too! I had her for both of my births and she is very hands off and doesn't interfere with the process. Good luck in your quest.
another vote for Jeannie here! She's amazing!!! This is our third baby but our first attempt at a HB and she's been nothing but reassuring and empowering throughout! She's in Concord but will travel to you for a homebirth depending on where you are, she definitely does take NH State insurance and most insurance companies. Congrats on your pregnancy mama!
Who are the Seacoast midwives? I am using Valerie Jacques this time because Sarah Anderson moved. I felt a little confined though, as she was the only one in the area that was on the midwives association website, are there others? (We are happy with her, although I have no other options so there was really no choice)
Valerie's BC is in Stratham, and she does homebirths all over the seacoast, as does Cilia Bannenberg in Barrington. Jeanne Browne is in Concord but she does lots of homebirths on the seacoast...all over southern NH, actually.
I HIGHLY recommend Adrianne and Tracy at the Birth Cottage in Milford, NH...totally dedicated to an educated, soulful approach, two women who are wonderful to know whether or not they catch your babies! AWESOME offiec lady, Deanna, too!!! All around amazing and they take insurance and do homebirth.
