Too many diapers in my stash?

It's been a while since I diapered a baby (youngest PL'd over a year ago) and I have pregnant brain, so help me out!

I bought 20 Sm FB's from the seconds outlet- sold 5 of them that were super girly when I found out baby is a boy. So I have 15 sm. FB's. I have a few covers & lots of PF's (I use them as inserts) and thought this was a great small stash. (I chose not to do NB this time as my babies have outgrown by 1 week)

So I bought some fabric to make myself some mediums- and used the very baby pattern and made 12 pockets in size medium and have 6 more cut out.
Well, (still with me?) I just thought to compare my small FB's with my VB mediums and they are the SAME SIZE! In additon, I have 4 VB mediums that lasted from the last DS.

So now I have 31 pocket diapers the same size. That seems like a lot, but it's not like I can return them, since they were seconds they are final sale. I am upset I didn't compare before, and now likely have to spend a lot of time making some "real" mediums, probably size Large.

I'm sorry this is long- just wondering what you would do.

i actually think that's a great stash.. enough to last you 2-2.5 days, with a few extras for emergencies or if you don't get the diapers in the wash right when you plan to.

if you wanted to, you could set 5-6 diapers of the FBs aside for the first few weeks, see if you need them. if you find that they are just too many, then you could sell or swap these as unwashed/unworn. you could use that money to buy some bigger diapers, (or swap for them).

you should have a good long time (a few months, at least!) to make or buy or swap for larger sizes. i guess you could start cutting out the fabric for bigger dipes now, it makes it so much fast later to have everything already cut and measured!

I don't think it is a big problem. You have lots of diapers for when the baby is small and wetting all the time and you are sleep deprived. That is great. You won't have to do laundry so often and will have more time for the newborn and your family. Then, as the baby gets bigger, sleeps more, you are more on top of things, you can break out the Mediums you are making.

I think you are lucky to have so many.
