Twin needle headaches

Does anyone here use a twin needle on your sewing machine? I just bought one for my Kenmore, followed the manual's instructions and the thread keeps balling up and breaking. I played with the tension and stitch length but finally ended up giving up. Any suggestions?

Is your second spool turning freely? I have better luck putting my second spool in a small jar beside my machine...otherwise it sticks and breaks.

I don't have a Kenmore...Sorry I'm not more help.

review the threading. My Kenmore is particularily finnicky about how it is threaded for double needles.

Or try taking it in to a Hancocks Fabric store. Everytime I had a question I would just waddle in (now 6 1/2 months pregnant) and ask how do I do this. The ladies were wonderful! Or you could stop by those mom and pop sewing places. They could help. kathryn5kids

Thanks, guys. See I'm really not sure if it's threaded right or not. My manual has one very small diagram that isn't the best. It doesn't seem right because it has me threading both spools in the same path so I suspect the threads are getting tangled. But I don't know where else or how else I'd thread it.

Maybe I'll call Sears and see if I can bring it in for them to show me.

Thanks,
