when to get tub?

The lady I am renting our tub from says they drop them off a week before you due date. Does that seem soon enough? My first baby was born at 40 weeks 1 day, but I would hate to not have to pool... but then again my house is tiny and I don't want it sitting there for a month.

Hmmmm.... thoughts?

I ordered it at 34 weeks. I got it around 2 weeks later. You also have to rememebr, you'll want to have a test run with it and air it out so the plastic smell goes away

I try and get my clients to have theirs by their thirty sixth week. You never know when babies will come, and to me, thirty nine weeks is too late.

I also think 39 weeks is too close for comfort.
I would certainly want it by 38.
I agree that you definitely want to set it up and check it out before labor.

Where I live I can't have a hb before 37 weeks, so I'll delay picking up some of my stuff until then (also have no storage) but I'd want the tub (mine is already taking up most of my closet).

39 weeks is too late, IMO. I'd be stressed about going into labor earlier and not having it. I'd personally want it by 37 weeks so I have time to set it up, air it out, and I'd know it is there when I need it. Because technically you are term at 37 weeks and a MW can attend your birth should you go into labor.

I do my test run and have everything ready by 36 weeks. With DD2, we discovered the pool liner was ruined at the trial so we had to get another shipped to us. She was born at 38 weeks. Now with DS (my 3rd) I did my usual 36 weeks thing and then the pool sat, and sat, he finally emerged at almost 41 weeks. I would be uncomfortable with 38 weeks, right at 38 would be the latest, I'd be comfortable with.

hmmmm, I emailed her to see if I could get it earlier. I guess it would be good to have, even if it's not set up at all. I think I'll shoot for 38 weeks, because I highly highly doubt I'd give birth before then (watch, now I will! LOL).

I got mine at 39.5 weeks, and man I must say I was S-T-R-E-S-S-E-D! Lesson learned, next time, I'm thinking it'll be 37ish weeks when I have it ready. The anxiety totally wasn't worth it.

39 weeks is definitely not early enough! I birthed two of my five babies before 39 weeks. I got my tub this time at 36 weeks (midwife brought it with her at the home visit!).

I ordered mine a few days shy of 37 weeks, since that's the soonest I can have a hb anyway.
