Help me make it through the night!

I started making a Mei Tai (my first attempt) and it is really looking beautiful. I spent all night last night on sleepingbaby deciding how I was going to go about this. I got the fabric today (I love sales and end-of-bolt discounts!) and came home and started cutting away. I got the straps sewn, the padding (cotton quilt batting scraps) sewn in and quilted, the body cut and the decorative panel appliqued. I was pinning the straps on so I could sew it together when DS decided he needed to go to sleep ASAP. Now the whole house is abed and I can't sew anymore. I'm dying here!!!

It is going to be really pretty - earthy sage green straps with this panel - http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat1273844&PRODID=xprd747065

I went to a BW group yesterday and had major carrier envy. There were so many pretty MT's that I had to make one. I've never used one before, so that is step 2.

Ohh sounds cute!!!
Its fun to meet up with other BWing moms but yes all the pretty carriers will make you nuts!
Good luck, but don't knock yourself out rushing to finish it. I've learned that the hard way. My seam ripper has seen its fair share of late nights!

yeah, I would have finished but for bobbin issues. That's what hapens when you're in a rush, plus I'm still learning a new machine. But I love it! It's the Singer confidence quilter. It was a bday gift and it handles the heavy duty sewing really well.

How did you do? You know you'll need to post pics when its done right ?
A quilting machine sounds heavenly! I think your gonna love the MT, they really are super easy to use. And totally invaluable.

OK! I got up and gave the baby to DH, and finished it. Here are pics:

It wasn't so comfortable to wear, so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. Any tips on how to fix that?

That is super cute! Way to go momma!

Whats uncomfortable about it? Maybe try tying it differently will help. I like wearing mine in the (I think its called) the russack carry. The straps cross over your shoulders then under you arms, like a backpack.

that's so cute! where did you feel pressure? i prefer to tie mine around my hips - it looked like yours was high on your waist. your shoulder straps looked a little loose to me. if my straps are too loose, i feel my back straining. it was much easier for me to learn to tie mine tightly on the front. the back took more practice.
