Can you use Pul with fitteds?

I am looking at making fitted diapers for my soon to be arriving baby. I was thinking of using the mama bird pattern, but I'm not sure yet what pattern is best. My question is can you use pul as the outer layer, or is it best to use another fabric and use a diaper cover?

You can use PUL - but then it's no longer a fitted... it's an AIO. It's just a matter of what you want in your stash.
