I am having baby #3, but have struggled with slings. I am gonna try again, any sling experts that can tell me their favorite brands?

I love wraps. I like stretchy ones for newborns and woven for older (6months and up)

I am not an expert at all. I am in the same boat as you are. I have a Maya Wrap and am not impressed at all with our experiences. I will be ordering a BabyHawk for sure this time. Perhaps a Didymos, but we'll see how things go with the BabyHawk.

Moving to Babywearing, as per the DDC Guidelines.

I have only tried some on to practice the wrapping technique and to check for sizing and fabric. (This is my first baby so I've never actually used one.) But based on what I've been hearing from other moms and what I've personally had my hands on, I'm really impressed by the wrap style slings and the woven fabric of the German wraps, like Storchenwiege or Didymos. Sadly, they're among the most expensive wraps out there, but they last forever and they're very versatile.
Stretchy wraps are nice for newborns, but as soon as LO grows past a certain weight the strechiness makes the wrap useless and you'd have to upgrade to woven anyway. JMO.

What about a Mexican rebozo? Woven, can be bought fairly cheap on ebay.

I loved my stretchy wrap (like a Moby Wrap) when DD was a newborn, then I loved my ring sling (Maya Wrap) when she was 3-12 months, and now that she's over a year I love my Beco Butterfly soft-structured carrier (although I do still use the Maya Wrap quite a bit too, in the hip carry).

I love wraps and use them almost exclusively with my kids.
