Dying nylon covers (with Kool-Aid?)

Thread Starter
Has anyone dyed nylon pull-on cover? I read somewhere (can't rember if it was here or not) that someone used Kool-Aid to dye Dappi nylon covers. How do you do this? Anyone have a "recipe"? What colors are best? Do they come out more pastel?

My understanding is that kool-aid only works with natural fibers like cotton and wool--I've never heard of it working with non-natural stuff. Although in the link below it says you can do it. So maybe?

Here are some directions:

I would test it on one of your LEAST favorite covers first though--because it says to microwave it--and I'm not sure what nylon will do in the microwave.

I tried this once and it dyed the trim but no the actual cover part.

I did it several years back, and it worked great! I *think* I just used that same method the poster linked to. My memory is fuzzy on it now. But I used the cheapy Dappi covers from Babies-R-Us.
