Does anyone have experience with this? I am forming a team with our local homeschool group and want to get an idea of the type of time commitment I am looking at.

My son participated in FLL for three years. His teams met for at least four hours a week initially, then for double that in the 3-4 weeks before tournaments. But he was never on a big team (the largest had 5 members), and they were very good at division of labor, so they never ran into situations where there were multiple kids arguing about the design of the robot.

Good luck! FLL is one of the two best things DS has done as a homeschooler (the other is acting in Shakespeare), but I know of several teams where things didn't work out so well, and they only lasted one season. It worked so well for us that this year we moved up to FIRST Tech Challenge.
