Give me your hints and experiences with a pendulum. Helpful links and comments in general are very much appreciated.
How often do you use it?
When did you use it for the first time?
What is your pendulum made of?
Any other things you want to share about it?

Wear your pendulum as much as you can to 'charge' it. I find that pendulums, especially crystal ones, need a long time of skin contact to charge. So if you can, string it on a chain & wear it for a few days.
I use my pendulum every so often (every month or month & a half).
I first used a pendulum 3 years ago.
My first pendulum was a rose quartz point crystal on a silver chain. Since then I've used my wedding band on a string as a pendulum (pretty accurate). I've also used a spiral 'holder' (
like this) that I can 'squeeze in' different small stones. I used to carry a few small stones in my pocket (small rose quartz, small clear quartz, etc) to charge them (much faster than the bigger stones). I use whichever one 'calls' to me during a reading. Love questions usually get the rose quartz, health gets the clear or smoky quartz, etc.
Have fun with it! I haven't gotten the hang of using a pendulum with a chart/writing. I just ask it a few questions like: which way is yes/which way is no/may I ask you questions/are you being truthful. Then I/anyone can ask lots of yes/no questions. If you are used to other divination methods, you know they can sometimes be cheeky, which is why I ask the last question.

Just relax & do a few questions of no consequence. Also, you can do gender readings on unborn babies. If your pendulum swings in a circle, it's female, if it swings back & forth, it's male. Try this with a few people of mixed gender. Have everyone place a hand under the pendulum (one at a time) and watch what it does. Yours might swing differently, but you'll see definite patterns emerge due to sex. Oh, and a tip: do gender readings when the baby is a good size (like 15wks +). Before then, it's easier to put the pendulum where the baby isn't.
ETA: I've noticed that with really emotionally charged questions, the pendulum either stops completely or goes into a mixed swing (between yes & no--for me, it moves very ovally). This is normal and ok. Again, if you've used other divination methods, you know that being very emotional about a certain question can mess with the answers/results.
