cv shampoo bars - help!

HELP!!!

I have been using cv shampoo bars for 1 week. I wash daily because my hair gets limp and heavy (greasy?) feeling if I go longer than a day and a half. Anywhoo, the water here is hard and I found the first 2 days my hair felt waxy. So, I started rinsing with distilled water and vinegar and my hair felt very soft. I loved it. Last night however, I noticed I am getting little white spreckles.....kind of like flakes?....but not. The bigger ones feel kinda hard. What is this? What should I do? Also, my hair is feeling limp/heavy/greasy faster than it usually does.

I have to be honest and say that I LOVED my CV shampoo bars at first and then it seemed like my hair got to be a big greasy mess and no matter what bar or what I did my hair looked like crap. I finally found a shampoo bar from a local lady that I LOVE and have never had problems with icky looking hair.

Sorry I can't be of more help!

Hmm I don't know. Could it be transition? I just started using CV shampoo bars on me and my dd's. My almost 4 yr old's hair doesn't seem to have any issues. My 2nd dd I don't really wash her hair with any shampoo so the shampoo bar is fine for her. Me on the other hand I'm a mess! lol I also color (can't stand the grays!) and it's made my hair look brassy. I've taken to using the bar every other day instead of every day and combing a few times a day instead of just twice. Seems to help.
Maybe try every other day or every few days. I still wet my hair in the shower even if I'm not shampooing it. Good luck! It's all trial and error from what I've read here.

Try a citric acid rinse instead. It's the only thing I've found that allows me to use shampoo bars with hard water. I use very little, a pinch per a giant cup of warm water as my final rinse before I hop out. Vinegar just doesn't work with my water and I get the waxy coating and build up (white flakes) you describe.

I checked out the CV website to see what they had to say. They have some suggestions. One was to use just baking soda with water. I did just taht this morning and so far my hair's feeling pretty good today!
