aprilmom: I am no expert but I have heard that progesterone can give you nausea. How long have you been feeling like this? Have you taken progesterone before? All of these questions aside, I am optimistic for you that these are signs of the egg implanting.

As for me, the IUI went well--65 million sperm so hopefully they are finding the egg!

IUI cancelled... They finally saw a dominant follicle today, on CD24, and it was 15 mm. However, I'm beginning the LH surge right now, so normally they'd insem tomorrow, but my follicle really isn't the right size. They would much prefer it to be 18mm or over.

So, on to the next cycle. If I have ovulation problems that time, they'll talk about Clomid for the subsequent cycle.

It's mainly because I have no known fertility problems - which is why we're using donor sperm - it's all my husband's problems. I see no reason to use Clomid until it's proven that we actually need it... I hated all of those IVF drugs and I'm staying far, far away from any other fertility drugs unless absolutely necessary.

AFM - I am feeling MUCH better after being on the meds for the UTI now for a few days... that was horrible.

Hello everyone! I am new here, but have been reading for a while.

Aprilmom: I noticed that you and I had our IUIs a day apart which means I too am in the 2ww. I wondered if you happened to have (and are currently having) period like cramps and severe breast tenderness? This was my first IUI (actually we did B2B IUIs on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week) and I have no idea what feels 'normal.' I have been searching for info on the internet about post-IUI symptoms, but can't find anything really reliable. I fear it is AF coming and I have been trying to mentally prepare myself.

That STINKS! I am sorry to hear that but I understand not wanting to take the meds unless you NEED them!!

Well, I had period like cramps last week... but nothing this week. My breast are not tender at all - and that is funny that you ask because I was just thinking about that today and kinda sad they don't hurt I am on progesterone and so I think it is making me nauseous (but I was nauseous when I woke up this morning before I had taken the progestrone... so maybe?) I have resided to not try to 'look' into symptoms and just see what happens as I too have no clue what is 'normal'. GL

Thanks for the feedback I guess in my mind I think that there is no WAY that it would happen with the first IUI and that's where my mind goes...AF comin' to town. I don't know about you, but I have never wanted the 4th of July weekend to get here so fast!

I'm back! Took some time off after the last failed 3rd IUI and just had surgery on Friday. Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. Found endometriosis...the Dr. said to wait on IVF and try at least 2 more rounds of IUIs. I am taking progesterone for 7 days then calling with AF. We will see....

I see your point... my RE didn't actually recommend an unmedicated IUI... although I didn't press him on it. Maybe I should have...

I used clomid for the first time this cycle and didn't have an issue (at least one that I am aware of yet) but I understand that you didn't like the IVF drugs.

Eva & Aprilmom: I'm sending you good vibes and keeping my fingers crossed for you. I have no idea what to expect as well. I also try not to read into symptoms but when you get close to the end it gets really hard.

Hi all!
Just back from the IUI - post wash had 30 million sperm and 97% motility, so that was good news. I did an acupuncture session right afterwards - turned out my regular person was onsite that day! I feel pretty good - drowsy - taking a rest day... feeling braced for the 2WW - it'll be 3 months of waiting after that anyway(fingers crossed), so hopefully this will be nothin!
(btw: my nurse today said progesterone shouldn't cause nausea.)


LAURA: I'm sorry they cancelled this round... more waiting - I suppose all of this has really taught me something on that front... i know I am a lot more grateful for all the things I DO have in my life, and that this experience REMINDS me to stay that way...

Lynne/Eva -when are you guys due to test?

I decided that I will test on 4th of July. The RE told me to test on July 2nd, but I figured I would give it some extra 'marinating' time.

BTW that is a great number for post-washed sperm....hopefully everything will fall into place for you! Good luck!

Thank you for telling me that progestrone shouldn't cause nausea - that is great news

My RE told me to test on 6/29 - and right now that feels like a long time away!!

So are you guys waiting for 14 DPIUI to test? I know the last few months of natural trying, I always started on 10 DPO... probably an opportunity for crazy-making, so I'm thinking 12 should be good? (i.e. July 5) Or do I need more patience???

aprilmom- what DPO are you? I was super crampy, AF like, right away up until my BFP. Hang in there!
