Comments About Baby Suffocating in Sling

Does anyone else get comments about their baby suffocating in their sling. My newborn and I absolutely love our moby wrap, and we feel very safe with it. Today we were in Wal-Mart and the cashier told me, "Don't those slings scare you. They had a documentary on how babies suffocate in slings, and see how close the fabric is to your baby's nose & mouth." Just wondering if other people have dealt with people like this.

babies do in fact suffocate in slings. so if someone expresses a concern about it to me, i try to educate them. yes, i'm aware that it happens, but it only happens when babies are in certain positions where their airways are restricted (then i demonstrate with myself a chin to chest). i am very careful to be sure my baby is in a safe position, so i'm not at all concerned. when you wear your baby safely it's a wonderful thing for both baby and mama.
