Anyone use a wheat grinder? + other wheat questions

I am not sure it this is the right area but I am wondering if anyone here uses a wheat grinder? I have no idea which one to get. Also where can I get org. wheat berries? I have a 25lb bag of Org wheat berries I got from a lady thru a co-op but she moved away. Also I am wondering if they are still good??? I recieved them about 2 years ago with a hole in the bag and duc tape over it. They have been acting as a weight over our heat/air vent for the last year.

TIA!

Well it depends on how much you are willing to spend on your grinder, but a good grinder is worth the price let me tell you!

I have a Wonder Mill Grinder that I bought from Kodiak Health
And I love it! I spent about $260 on it and is well worth the price. There is virtually no dust when it grinds and isn't terribly loud, it's no louder then my blender (and it's quieter when it's grinding). It has a lifetime warrantee as well, and is so easy to use.

When I was deciding on a grinder I was considering the Nutramill but after reading the reviews I settled on the Wonder Mill.

Here is a link to the comparison chart for wheat grinders.

Goodluck!

I second the Wonder Mill. I also use it to make organic corn meal.

Your wheat should be fine if it still sprouts. Try sprouting some on a wet washcloth or sponge. If it sprouts then it's still alive and good to eat. Also you might want to check for weevil.

We have a diamant grain mill, and it really is fantastic - we can grind 6 cups of wheat (making 7-8ish cups of flour), in abou 15-20 minutes. It is a workout but its a great mill, and you can motorize it if you want.

I order og wheat berries from my co-op but I know you can buy them online and have them shipped to you too. The wheatberries should be fine, though they might very well have some bugs in them - so you'd probably want to rinse/wash them and then let them dry before grinding.
