A TMI post LOL...

How many of us are resorting to DTD to help get baby out LOL? We kind of stopped for about 3-4 weeks because it would make me have a lot of strong brax hicks contrx afterwards so we wanted to wait until closer to term before resuming activities LOL.

So we have restarted activities LOL but yikes...I'm so huge now!! Just not very comfortable...uggg...LOL...

Anyone else trying to get labor started this way LOL?

No.

I feel like a whale. Plus, you've read my post about how torn I am about wanting labor to start!

DH is iffy about dtd, he says he wants to, but it seems like he chooses the nights I go to bed early to try to 'instigate,' and when I suggest it on nights I'm less tired, he gets moody and acts stressed. :

I told him not to bother me about it, when I feel like it, I'll tell him. I was appreciating the groping/touching/all-around-sexy gestures he was making, but now it feels like it's just his way of making sure he 'gets some' before the post-partum weeks. And since I'm the one who has to deal with two days of bruising and tenderness, and INCREASED (WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?!?!) vaginal discharge, I'm not feeling like humoring him.

But if/when I can sort out my mental birth-block, you can bet it's high on my list of induction strategies!

no not trying to get labor started this way, but just in general it is so much more difficult then it ever was before, just because of sheer size.

DTD has become impossible! Although we have *tried*, it has been to no avail. Baby has her head in a position where it feels she is "clamping me shut", so NOTHING can go in... Otherwise, I think I might try it! I've had enough contractions and spotting- I'm ready!!
I went into labor with DS just after DTD, so I am fully convinced it works!

Yeah I told DH the best time for "us" time is in the morning, I feel best then. By bedtime I'm done...tired...cranky...don't touch me done!!!

I am hoping it works real soon...I can't see myself wanting to try much longer LOL. It's not bad for me but it's not awesome either, LOL.

I am jealous of any 9 mo pregnant woman who still has an awesome sex drive. :P

I am thinking that tomorrow would be great. My fave midwife (5 in the practice) is on call at 6...

I want some and not to get labor started. DH has been sick and busy all week and well, I'm just horny I'm hoping tonight, but I really don't want it to get labor started. Not yet. I need another week at least to be ready emotionally.

Well, I don't want to get labor started yet, but it would be nice to DTD. It seems like DH and I just don't fit together quite right. Way TMI here, but it seems like I'm just too tight down there. Sigh. And I wanted to have some more time to enjoy ourselves before Baby arrived.

I feel so stupid, LOL...this is funny...so I *know* how ackward it is for me, finding the right position that feels comfortable, etc. Heck, just getting situated on the bed is tough LOL. So I kinda figured he was feeling the same, I had said something like "oh I can't wait until I'm not pregnant so this isn't so tricky, etc" and then it dawned on me...it's the SAME for him LOL. He laughed and agreed it's not different for him. Not uncomfortable for him...not ackward, he doesn't feel the baby move or have contrx during, etc. LOL...just same old fun DTD for him...

Men are so lucky sometimes LOL.

I miss it. It's been around 2+ months.
We have been doing it the past week or so. I was hoping.......but nothing started yet.

We have done a few rather different positions since my belly is quite big. It still works ok. This last time, last night though, it felt REALLLLLY tight. Like someone else mentioned, it feels like there is not a lot more room cuz baby is moving down so far. He is really low. I can feel him if I reach up there.

We've been trying but it is a tad awkward... not too bad but enough so that it seems like effort sometimes!!! Today we did though and DH got kicked the whole time... I was amused

We haven't dtd in ages! Maybe if we hit 40 weeks, I'll be able to talk dh into it. Right now I'm so not interested, and either is he.

Not much deed doing going on here because of tiredness, hugeness, and having to schedule around a 3YO. I have been *ahem* going it solo now and then which gives me pretty strong contractions. No prostaglandin benefits, I know, but it sure feels good!

*blush*

I've been pretty uncomfortable the past few weeks so we haven't been much, but we started up again yesterday.
It's really tricky though - baby is so low that there is only one position that works! Seems like I'm kind o sealed shut:
thistles_in_snow, I'v heard that going it alone IS actually great because it releases oxytocin just like nipple stimulation. Plus it's easier at this point....

We can do it in one position, and one position only. And that position is not very fun for me. At the same time, I really wanted to get some in before we are parents and it's hard to ever have time at all to do it!!

I've felt like things were too crowded in there since...um, about 20 weeks or so. Since then, we've done it on average 1-3 times a month. Prior to that, it was every other day or so. So it's been a big adjustment.

I'd be okay if it got labor started...but DH is so worried about hurting me that I dunno if I can convince him...I'm trying to tell him, "Sweetheart, EVERYTHING hurts me. I'm 9 1/2 months pregnant, so that's just the way it is. It feels good too!!!"

None for me...but my DP is in Iraq, so it'd be really difficult! I don't know if I'd want to try, though. Last pregnancy we DTD around 38 weeks and I had 6 hours of really painful contractions afterwards that were really irregular and obviously did nothing to start labor because I didn't give birth unitl 41w2d!

I'm kinda wondering if I will pee on DH. I am serious. I O'ed the other day and surely thought the release would let out a little pee.

pearl2 -- that happens to me. My husband says he doesn't mind, but I do. It kind of kills the mood for me to worry about it!
we've been attempting it a bit lately, but it kind of kills the mood when we know its just to get labor going. We keep giggling, and it's awkward enough as it is.

I still enjoy being close to him and having a little special time. But it's not really working for me - I seem to have lost it, which makes me wonder if it would even help cause labor anyway.

oh well, it can't hurt.
