Preschool in Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill area, CA

We are new in the area. Does anyone have recommendations for a preschool/day care or the mothers day out programs here? I would like to be able to start gradually, few hours a week.

My ds is 30 months old. I like both, Montessori and Waldorf ideas, but I am not sure if we can afford those schools right now.

Hi Lara, thanks for posting. You may get some information particular to your area. You might want to also post in the Finding Your Tribe section, since people from your area might be posting there. I'd try both to see which works better.

While you are researching the formal options in your area, maybe it would be fun to find a playgroup to go to, for you and your child. I thrived on playgroups when my children were younger. It was mostly for me, as I loved to connect with the other moms!

Great little Montessori School

Hello, I am new to Mothering Dot Commune Forums, and just saw your request for Walnut Creek Preschool information. If you have not already fallen in love with a local preschool, I invite you to check out the web site for Garden Gate Montessori School. Garden Gate is a nature oriented, small and personal in-home, part time Montessori School run by an experienced Montessori educator (myself .) The web site is "gardengatemontessori.com". Because the school is new and will be expanding in the fall there are still openings (at least for a couple of weeks more). By the way, welcome to Walnut Creek. Hope you like our great little town.
