So the last 2 days have been pretty much a blur. It seems unreal. But yay for me-it is real. I tried to go as natural as possible...Warning-It went about as far from it as it could have...But I have no regrets.

I went in to the hospital Thursday night to start induction. We got there at 8pm, and they brought us up to the labor and delivery room. (Or as the awesome nurse that took care of us, the birthday party room. lol)

We got registered and settled in. As I mentioned above, we had the greatest nurse ever..She made sure we both were comfortable, even got sweetie extra pillows and showed him how to use the foldout couch. She asked about my needs and wants as far as how I wanted things to go involving pain relief, breastfeeding, everything.

At 10pm the midwife came in and checked me...Still at zero of course..thick and hard. She gave me my first dose of Cytotec. The next was to come at 2am, and 6am. From 10p-2a I really didn't feel horrible. I was having some nice cramping, and was spotting a little when I went to the bathroom. Just before 2am she checked me again, and I was dilated to 1cm and 60% effaced. Sweetie high fived me..lol That was victory to me. :

At 2am she gave me the 2nd dose it didn't take long for that to kick in--The not-so-bad cramps I was having before turned into raging hell. I ran our poor nurse ragged...I was in awful pain, tired, and of course had to go to the bathroom about every 20-30 mins. By 6am, I was exhausted, and contracting one after another after another. No sooner would one contraction start to die down, another one would be right behind it. I asked for something for the pain, and they gave me a shot of Nubain. I was still in pain, but it did take the edge off. The nurse checked me again..I was between 2-3 cm,about 70%effaced at -2 station. (I have no clue what that means, but I took that as a

Since I was moving along, my dr decided not to give me the 3rd dose of Cytotec. We started the pitocin, and here come more contractions. At this point the only way I could handle the pain was to rub my side and I was being very vocal. Sweetie and the nurse tried rubbing my back and sides so I didn't have to do it, but it had to be me..It didn't stop the pain, but was distracting.

At 10am, They checked me again. I was at 4cm. Baby's heartrate started falling. They stopped the Pitocin, because they didn't want to stress him. My dr wanted to go ahead and break my water to move things along. At 10:10, the nurse went to get me another dose of Nubain. At 10:13 while having a huge contraction I was laying sort of on my left side hugging the bed rail. I felt a pop and huge gushes..My water broke itself! I told Sweetie, and he said, "How do you know?" LOL I said, "Well I know I didn't pee my pants, what else could it be?" I hit the nurse button. I couldn't see the fluid but when the nurse came in she informed me that it did contain meconium. She cleaned me up and reassured me that it was ok, that they would have the NICU people in the room to assist after delivery in case he swallowed any..

Now, I'm VERY tired and emotional. I had enough...I asked for the epidural.

Anesthesia came very quickly. It was painless and in just a few moments, I had no pain. I was finally able to doze in and out. I just wanted to sleep. I could still hear everyone around me, It was like I was too tired to sleep.

At just after 1pm, the nurse came back and said his heart rate was struggling again. She had me change positions. I ended up having to lay all crooked, almost snakelike to do any good. at 1:30 my dr came in. She was concerned for #1, the meconium fluid, 2 that after over 3 hrs of my water breaking, I STILL was at 4cm. She said we could turn the pitocin back on, but that's what caused him to stress earlier, and we could end up with an emergency C-section...Or we could just do the c-section. I couldn't risk it..I chose to go C-section. f baby lovin came out of my body. He is a total ham...Very sweet and cuddly, and most importantly safe and healthy. His Apgars are 9. Im holdig him now and cant believe that this chunk of baby was in my body. He's huge!

He's a total nightowl...Wide awake at 3 am. Gotta get these days and nights fixed.

Pictures in the morning, I promise. Our cool anesthesia guy grabbed the camera from Sweetie and got a few action shots!

Congrats on your baby and your great attitude! It has taken me almost two weeks just to stop whining and obsessing about my intervention-heavy induction that DIDN'T end in a C-section. You are being much more mature!

My son is gorgeous! And he's a world champion nurser! : The only time I've had trouble is when I wait too long to feed him. I just figured out though after his last feeding if he starts freaking out, if I hold him up in front of me and sing "trotty trotty horsey up and down the hill" to him he'll calm down, and we can try again. LOL It probably won't work the 2nd time, but we shall see.

Haven't had a chance to switch pictures to photobucket...I'll just direct y'all to my myspace page. The pics are just from the 29th.....You'll have to excuse the pictures of myself looking crazy..lol I'll get the better ones taken care of when we get home tomorrow night. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...lbumId=2358216
