AIOs - how do you know when the PUL is done?

I know this is a stupid question but I just really don't want to believe that some of my diapers could be at the end of their life span. If I'm seeing wet spots on the outside of the PUL, I guess that means it's deteriorating on the inside, is that right? Also some dampness along the elastic, both legs and back, even when the diaper isn't that full.

Should I cut one open to check? Is there anything to be done to restore the waterproofing?

how old are they and what kind? any chance they just need to be stripped?

It's still possible that they just need to be stripped, I think. Try that first. Strip them well and then dry them on hot and see if it makes a difference.

If you still have trouble, then it might be worth taking a peek inside and seeing if your PUL has peeled away. That's the only time I really think there is no hope. At least from my experience.

Yeah, I don't really have any that you can't physically inspect the PUL - I had some handmedowns though that when you looked at the PUL (on the inside) and maybe stretched the fabric, you could SEE it breaking down. If a hot dryer didn't fix it, they were done.

good luck!
