Safety When Wearing Your Baby

Could someone lead me to a place where it tells how to safely wear your baby in a moby wrap or tell me what the guidelines are? My almost two week old loves the tummy to tummy position in the moby wrap. I turn his head to the side and tuck it under the shoulder strap. I want to make sure that I'm wearing him safely.

Have you checked out the Moby Wrap website?

www.mobywrap.com

You can click on the "Instructions" link and it'll show you the ways to safely do each carry. There are videos too.

The Moby site does have really good pictures. What I show parents is that you need to have baby in the "zone" -- between your waist and your collarbone, high enough so that you can tilt your head down and kiss the top of her head but not so high that your chin is forced up by her head. I like to tie the Moby just a little snugger than I think I'll need it, as the wrap will stretch out a little when you put her in.

As long as she's not slumping chin to chest, and she's well-supported in a vertical position, she's going to be fine. I like to cover only the back of her head and make sure her face is turned sideways so that she's not smooshed into my chest.
