I was planning on making some prefolds from flannel. I found a pattern that makes 4x8x4 prefolds, but I've read that you only need that many if you are using a thinner material. I have some fitted diapers that have eight layers of flannel and I love the absorbency, but I do notice they take longer to dry. Should I stay with the eight layers for the absorbency, or would the folding of a prefold that was 2x4x2 make a comparable absorbency as an eight layer fitted?
