best/ worst commercial - Page 2

Has anyone else noticed how things (that shouldn't) spin in commercials.

Irritates the crap out of me.

Cellphones spinning, sattelite dishes, people sitting at the desk, cars twirling in circles.

It's as bad as the hyper flashing of three slightly different angles/poses in many commercials geared toward younger people....they don't think we can focus on something long enough so it's spinning.

Irritating.

I know the Subway commercials bug people but every time I see the one with the guy washing the car in the cheerleading outfit I can't help but laugh. "It's OK, I had Subway." :LOL

Oh and there used to be on for Sun laundry detergent on the Comedy channel I think it was. Where the sun chases the bear. I liked that one too.

Ones that bother me..... that Tylenol one with the sick boy that someone else already mentioned. ANY Victoria's Secret commercial. :Puke That stupid Hemi commercial with the little boy. There are lots more, but I can't think of them right now.

Ok, several of my least faves have allready been listed, but I have to add two of the worst:

1) Kids Bop- 5 year old girls in tube tops and booty shorts singing "Geenie in a Bottle" and dancing suggestively. It is both obnoxious and disturbing...

2) "Mommy's Little Patient"- gotta love the creative use of the "shot" to cure anything that is wrong with your baby, and the theme song grates on my brain: "mommy's little patient mommy's gonna cure you with a doctor bag just for you":Puke

Of course, my biggest pet peeve has allready been mentioned, the drug commercials that don't even bother to tell you what the drug is for. Oh, and the Zoloft commercials with the sad smiley remind me of the old Lionel's Play World commercials for some reason: "Turn that frown upside down!!!".....with mind altering drugs!!! (not that Zoloft is always bad, just that it isn't a cure all, no offense to anyone who uses it.)

I love the Guiness commercial....... the "BRILLIANT" one. Cracks my stuff straight up.


I can not stand the commercials they play here for South Dakota (no offence to you from SD) the music is sooo cheesy I can not see how it would draw people there. Oh and not a day goes by in my life without seeing or hearing or reading some stupid ad for Vegas. *sigh* alas it is my albatross.

I mute the commercials but if it looks like it might be funny, I will unmute it.

I love the one which immitates a 'While You Were Out' (on TLC) type theme where the wife comes home and her bedroom is full of people, including a very proud and pleased looking husband, who are showing off her newly redecorated room. It was horrible!! It was done with a lake theme so there were fish finials on the bed posts, the walls were covered with dark wood and there was a big picture of a lake and forest on one wall. But the funniest part was they had a fake duck tied to the fan, flying in a circle. :LOL

I despise the Tylenol commercial with the bratty kids & the Mom says "I had to give it to him." We have an on-going debate in our house.... exactly WHAT did the Mom HAVE to give him - they Tylenol or the squirt gun? It makes her look even more pathetic if you think she had to give him the super soaker thing! :

My favorite commercial right now is for Citibank i think, with the blue collar man sitting in his living room holding a beer but talking in a teenage girls voice about the leather bustier she had to buy because it "LIfts and Separates." I crack up every time. If I am watching a show I taped and I accidentally FF through this commercial, I will rewind and watch it.
I hate all the commercials that say now it's just like homemade and then they advertise meal-in-a-box. Yeah it's just like homemade plus all the artificial preservatives and colors we could cram in.

I love that one too. How about the one with the old woman (I think she's cleaning a pool.) talking in the man's voice? It's not as funny as the man with beer one, but I love the laugh at the end. lol

Did anyone see that stupid commercial about the guy that walks around in his apartment with no pants on Comedy Central? The first time I saw it they showed his bare butt, but all the other times they had it fuzzy. I wonder if the first time was a mistake? LOL I have no idea what the stupid commercial is even for. :LOL

Dd's favorite is the one with the old guy in the armchair talking with the voice of the teenage girl who stole his credit card number. Every time she sees it she laughs so hard and then looks at me really seriously and says, "Funny."

I really love the cell phone commercial with the little girl braiding her fathers hair and talkinga mile a minute..and you look down at the phone in his hand and see she has also painted his nails, and braided everyone elses hair in the house and the dog as well. My little sister was sort of like that about that age..she just talked your ear off..

So, that one makes me laugh pretty much everytime I see it.:LOL

i love that geico commercial, the fake hair replacement one. this guy says 'i would always wear a hat, even in the pool.' it makes me laugh everytime.

i hate those dodge commercials and that stupid hemi one.

The worst ever

This was last year during the Christmas ad season:

I never saw that one before, but it sure would have irked me.

One I think is funny is a car commercial that spoofs the mafia: they show a bunch of guys attacking another guy with water balloons and stealing his car, while Italian opera is playing in the background.

One not mentioned, the citi financial one where the old lady sings to her dog I'm sorry but it is sooo ear piercing and annoying!
The atkins subway wrap ones, where they are both on the low carb diet but think the other one "cheated" and trash the house like drama queens. I usually find subway ones funny but not that one.

I love hate the one with the guy in the armchair, it is hilarious but at the same time it creeps me out :LOL

One of my favs right now is the pepsi one where the dog drinks the pepsi, eats the sandwich left on the counter and then sticks the cat up there for blame :LOL

2 of my real favs they don't play anymore, the heineken one where all the people are shredding documents of what they did and tossing it out the window as new years eve confetti, something about doing something good for a change etc (I don't like the idea they think it's good to promote drinking but the idea of the commercial is a good one)
I only saw it once, during last years superbowl I think but it might have been during any game. It was a budweiser commercial where they said something about the ref's being jacka$$es hey were really zebras) and someone said that, it was the context that was hilarious.

The drug commercials bug me too. What they do is, for a while show the long version of the commercial. This is where they tell you what it treats and by telling you what it's for they somehow are required to list all the awful side effects. Then after they've drilled the commercial into your brain - for instance for Levitra (like viagra) they show a guy trying to throw a football through a tire swing hole, how's that for imagery? Anyways, at the end he finally gets the ball in the hole, and then we see the lights go out in the bedroom and the lady is super happy now. Well now, what they do is show a shortened version, where you just see the tire swinging and the bedroom light go out...They don't tell you what it's for, so they don't have to list the side effects - but you've got it drilled in your brain what it's for so it's kinda sneaky. They've done that with EVERY single drug commercial...it's their loophole for advertising w/ out listing side effects.

I don't watch a lot of tv so i haven't seen half of these... but i love the one for the jetta where the couple drops off the two kids with the wife's brother for the day and he exhausts them - running up and down a hill, digging holes at the beach, on the treadmill, back to the hill, etc. and then when the parents pick them up they are both asleep and the mother says "i don't know how you do it."
i love the radio commercial for geico I think when the woman calls into a talk show and she's been dating the guy since 1965 and she wants to know if he'll ever marry her and the talk show guy tells her no but he can save her a ton of money on car insurance ....
i like the hallmark commercials where they imagine what will happen if they buy the hallmark product...
