What have you been eating? - Page 2

I have to tell you all that I've had this several times in the past week, and not only is it delicious, but the ginger is helping a LOT:

It's not the height of nutrition, but it's better, than, say, Doritos, which seemed to be all I could stomach yesterday...

Since being sick I have eaten pretty much the same thing every day...

7am small bowl cheerios

10 or 11 One slice of bread with PB&J and some popcorn

1 or 2pm one slice of toast with peanut butter

supper: whatever I can stand... ramen, pizza, subway a couple times, or another sandwich.

Sad sad diet, but I know I will eat right when I get my appetite back.

I've just been eating whatever I can stomach - which isn't much. Bagel + cream cheese in the morning, and then I play it by ear the rest of the day. I feel somewhat guilty about this, but I'm hoping the aversions subside soon. I haven't been this nauseous or thrown up this much in my past pregnancies - I've been lucky in the past, but my time has now come. The Thai Ginger noodle soup sounds a little intriguing - I may have to look for some today.

Well, this is embarrassing, but I have been eating total crap since I found out. If it's horrible for you, I've been eating it. : Not really proud of this. Must change.

Before I got pregnant I was doing the South Beach diet (lots of lean protein, veggies, low GI fruits and whole grains) and loving it. I know that's how I need to be eating now - in fact last time I had gestational diabetes and will probably have it again, so I need to get with the program like, now...

Breakfast:
bacon, eggs, fresh-squeezed OJ & CLO
greenish smoothie/shake (including eggs, avocado, CO, probiotics)

Lunch:
tuna salad, hamburger or chicken with veggies

Dinner:
Chili, chicken w/veggies, hamburger

Drinks:
kombucha, Natural Calm, pregnancy iced tea, sometimes fresh juices

I need some variety! I am bad about pre-making stuff or even having a plan as to what to get at the grocery store. Luckily breakfast usually gets me off to a good start, but sometimes I wait too long to start making lunch or dinner. I also have tons of tomatoes I need to start cooking/storing but I can't think what to make with them!

I've never canned tomato sauce (yet), but in the past I usually will throw a LOT of tomatoes into the crockpot with spices and some evoo and let it cook forever into tomato sauce that I freeze. I've found that it really isn't necessary to peel the tomatoes, just core them and seed them, rough chop and into the crockpot. Kind of less labor intensive than the peeling bit. Once the flavor is what I want I use my immersion blender right in the crockpot to make a uniform sauce. Or you can leave it chunky for a more rustic feel.

You can also just core and seed them and leave them whole to freeze - lay them flat in ziplock bags so that they stack neatly after frozen.

Avocados!!!

Goat milk kefir

tons of fruit (the sweetest thing i can manage)

organic free-range farm eggs, over easy.

NO CHOCOLATE. that is the closest I've come to throwing up so far.

I'm about to go have a bowl of brown basmati rice with black beans, avocado, and sour cream for lunch. Mmmmmmm....

I've been doing pretty badly. I just don't want to eat. I make myself, but I don't feel like cooking, so I just grab something ready to go, none of which is very good stuff. I'm trying to tell myself that this is only temporary until I get my appetite back and then I will do it right.
