scared the heck out of hubby last night

Thread Starter
poor guy. had a long day yesterday. walked alot, also i got a new spinning wheel last week so treddling on that has not done my calfs any favours.

so after walking the 2-3 miles to Retail Park, with the intention of getting some maternity bits, wanted 3 things got 1 (bump support, woo hoo)

then we to Brewsters (kid friendly reasturant) for dinner, then home.

i was nackered, hot, in the sun too long with out a hat and had a huge headache so went to bed about 10-15 mins before DH, he comes up with DD2, im flat out, i didnt even hear him come up.

sometime later, im not sure how long, i woke in absolute agony, my right hip (the one i was laying on) was both numb and cramping (like calf cramps) at the same time. i could not move, i was whimpering, crying, sobbing, i didnt know what to do, all i could think about was the pain. DH woke up, i remember hearing the panic in his voice as he was asking me whats wrong?, whats up hunny, whats wrong, hunny wake up! i managed to sob out that the leg i was laying on was hurting me and i couldnt move and he would have to push me over. he did and i managed to get turned to my other side and the pain subsided. holy heck it was so painfull. i wanted DH to massage the cramp out but i couldnt form a coherent thought let alone talk much at that point but i some how managed to rub it myself and fell back to sleep.

the lessons i have learned
1) get a hat
2) dont spent too much time in the sun
3) dont lay on the same side for too long!
4) walking 3 miles while pushing a rather heavy toddler in a stroller is not a good idea at this point in my pregnancy.
5) make sure i give DH some standing orders to deal with cramps etc.

you sound just like me. anytime i walk for too long i cant walk the next day.

and my hips are kind of in constant pain from an accident I was in 12 years ago. Didnt start to bother me until this pregnancy, but its been excruciating.
if I lay on my right side (which isnt even the hurt side) i can wake up in more pain than Ive ever known.
It is a struggle every night to find a comfy position now...

Good luck to you!

You certainly did learn a lot for one day! Huge to you and your poor hip!

similar experiences here, and I seem to learn the hard way.

Any way I must have gotten too dehydrated yesterday again because I woke up feeling like I was hit by a truck.... I'm on my fourth big glass of water now, 1pm

I have to say thank you so much for posting this! Last night out of no where I got the worst pain in my hip and it woke me up. I was in complete shock and was starting to freak out. My normal reaction is to stay put and figure out why I hurt so bad. But I remembered your post and rolled over. I cried for a tiny bit and then it seemed to go away. Remembering your post totally calmed me down. Thanks!
