Early Ovulation - Causes and Cures?

Hi All
I've been ttc for 3-4 cycles now. Cycles are 27-28 days long, but I've ovulated on cd 13, then cd12, and then cd11 for my last cycle.
I've been searching the internet for causes and cures for early ovulation, because I fear that the egg released is either too immature or the lining is not ready for implantation yet.
I do have a history of PCOS but I've been on metformin since last fall and have had 28 day ovulatory cycles. I stopped nursing around that time as well. One cause, though, can be that I have definately been under much more stress than usual. Wondering if that truly can cause early O? (I thought it would delay O.)
I'd love any help or advice.

I believe you have no reason to fear, and that would not and should not be considered "early ovulation" as it's only a few days before "average"

average being, well, average, meaning some women do it before, some after. you're perfectly normal.

I know of several people who have ovulated on Cd7-10 and gotten pregnant (weird but true!) Maybe your body just cooks everything up faster? Also, I think there is only a 1 in 5 chance in your early 30s (might be 1 in 6) that you will get pregnant if everything goes well - so you are still doing ok :-)

I am also 33 TTC #2 and I have ovulated on CD11 for the past 3 cycles just like clock work. I never thought there was anything wrong with it. Every womans body is different and does things at different times. I personally don't think you have too much to worry about.

I have heard nothing wrong with Oing early. As long as your LP is decent (ie 12 or more days) I would see nothing bad about it. Plus you get more chances each year!!! Trust me, as a girl who od whenever her body decided to CD 21, CD33, CD 286 oing early is AWESOME.

Its funny you posted this question b/c I was going to post the same thing! I've been O'ing on cd 10 since I started keeping record last week and was wondering if an overly long LP is bad! I didn't find anything addressing it though...my cycle has been 33 days, so even longer than yours!

Early ovulation (which I am forgetting the technical term for this problem) is generally considered as ovulation happening on CD 8 or before.

I've researched this quite a bit in the past as I've almost always ovulated on CD 12 (10 and 11 sometimes). But everything I've read and in talking to two RE's plus an OB all say that I am okay most likely, it's not too early.

Are you SURE of ovulation? Hmm. Usually 18 dpo+ is considered pregnant when one is absolutely sure of ovulation. I've rarely (if ever?) heard or rather read of a 17+ day LP. Weird!

Nevermind, I see your chart - I'm wondering if last cycle you didn't ovulate until May 9th?

Yeah, FF keeps on changing my date CONSTANTLY! I guess we will see what this cycle brings..

I often O early. I have fairly short cycles. I was concerned that I had too short a luteal phase for a pg to stick but then I got pg with DS the suprise.

We will see what happens with TTC #2

FF--Fertility Friend, online basal body temperature tracking website (+more fertility related stuff)

DS, DD, DH--Dear Son, Daughter, Hubby

OB-Obstetrician

LP--Luteal Phase

RE-Reproductive Endocrynologist

PCOS-Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
