Survived our first overnight

Friday night was my first extended period away from my baby. I got called in from leave (just regular vacation, not maternity anymore) in order to pull an overnight duty (that's the Army for you --we're short-handed in the unit for people who are able to pull this particular duty at the moment). Luckily, I had a lot of milk pumped and frozen and two days notice. I fed her about 12:30 on Friday and she was very good for DH until I arrived home the next morning. I just pumped about 5 times that night.

Taking her with was *not* an option. She sleeps in our room, but not our bed and does STTN (well, 9-10 pm till 4-5 am).

Wow! that is so amazing!

May I ask what you do on the unit?

Congratulations on surviving the overnight! It sounds like it worked out beautifully.

Were you able to recover when you got home?

Wow, good job! I can't imagine having to leave LO at nighttime and then taking care of her the next day! I hope you got some rest!
