OMG, please don't waste your money

If you are going to get a sewing machine, please get a REAL one, those aren't even worth giving to a child to play with imo. With a poor quality machine you'll spend more time getting frustrated with the thing from tension to tangled bobbins to not being able to manage the fabric to to to...you name it.
3 things to look for imo:
1. top loading bobbin...never to rarely will you ever have bobbin issues with one
2. adjustable foot height esp. if you plan on working with thicker fabrics or layers.+
3. all metal interrior for a stronger machine that won't fall apart.
I personally love JANOME made produts, have a low end NewHome that will be my childrens when I have space to put it out more and teach them to sew(unless I can afford/condone a lower end top bobbin model)...and my

my Craft Master 5000 (the new version of the NewHome 3000), it just purrrrrs when I sew on it.
Berdina, Elna, Viking, Janome(newhome craftmaster) are some of the top brands to look for.
**ditzy me didn't catch the serger part...but my opinion still stands, get a quality one or it's a waste of money and time.
