5 lbs in June, let's go :) - Page 2

I'm in! I've lost 52 lbs since January and I'm sitting at 190 now. It's starting to come off slower now so 5 lbs a month from now on out sounds spectacular to me. Lets go lower 180's:

I'm walking and trying to work on incorporating more strength training into my routine. better hop to it!

I started out at 242 and you are absolutely right, you have to start somewhere! You can so do it!

It's funny, because I avoided this thread for months because 5 pounds seemed so little to me. I couldn't believe it would make a difference. And yet here I am in June, and I've lost 31 pounds! Little steps...

I'm in! I've never done this before, but I bet it will be fun.

I had a m/c in February, and after it was all said and done, I weighed 162. I started working out as a mental healing exercise, and I started gaining weight! I have been steadily gaining weight since then and now weigh 178, which was my last full-term post pg weight! ARGH! I have a doc's appt on Friday and may get my thyroid tested.

Anyway, I'm going to try to be super aware of how much sugar I'm eating (I think it's pretty low, but I'm going to watch closer), and try to cut back on the cheese

I've been alternating running with videos, I have about six of the original Firm videos and a new Cathe step video that I'm finally learning.

Yay mamas!

I want to join! I currently weigh 185.5 and my goal weight is 140ish (well 120 but I gotta at least get to 140 so I have clothes other than maternity wear!) I do my fitness coach on the wii every morning and will be getting the p90x dvd's as soon as I can afford them. So on July 1st I hope to only weigh 180!

I'd like to join! I've lost about 10lbs in the last month since being diagnosed with PCOS and quitting sugar, white flour, white rice and potatoes. I'm doing well with nutrition and need to really get going with exercise. I bought a mini trampoline and my goal is to do 15-20 minutes/day, 5-6 days/week. I've only done it sporadically in the last two weeks.

I'm going to join you all too. Last year I participated in a similar thread and it was really helpful. I'm currently 129 and I'm going for 124.

Pogo- let me know how you like the p90x.
I think it looks awesome and have been tempted to get it for myself this summer when I am out of town on a small island for 6 weeks and cannot get to a gym- I will run everyday but I also NEED to keep up my strength training.

I will weigh in today if I make it to the gym-
I have been running and taking my muscle pump class...
work hard mamas-
swimsuit season is upon us!!!!

Ok so two days in and I'm already having trouble. I'm trying to figure out what changes to make. I'm working on smaller portion sizes (that seems easier than a whole diet overhaul) and incorporating some weights. I already have a fair amount of walking in the routine, but obviously it's not enough. Here are my challenges/excuses that I need to move past if you have any suggestions:

1) my DD does not like to sleep, still (at 13 months). I'm up with her 2 to 5 times a night to nurse and she only takes very short naps during the day. I often try to take those with her which is good and bad, I'm less tired, but then I got nothing done. I'm dang tired, and I don't drink any caffeine so the bit of chocolate and sugar that I have is too tempting of a quick energy boost.

2) Meal times are crazy hectic with DD. I'm trying to get food in front of her and eat at the same time since she'll be off and into something else the second she's done and I'll need to clean up the mess. Plus I want to set a good example by sitting down to eat. She's also a lightweight and she likes to eat off my plate which tends to get her to eat more -- then she won't ask for food again an hour later. But in doing this, I'm definitely not being very aware of how much/what I'm eating. It's such a rush to get her food, my nutrition tends to fall by the wayside.

so wah wah poor me, I'm not the first mom with these troubles and I'm sure I won't be the last. I need to find a way around them and stop my whining.

Ok, I'll do it!!!! Month before last I lost the 5 lbs I wanted to lose before summer but gained it all back on a 3 week vacation

So, my stats:
5'9", 141 lbs. Average frame.
I eat pretty healthy on average, my junk vices are french fries and potato chips

My plan to lose these 5 lbs again is to eat less carbs and mostly raw (50% daily raw-smoothies and salads).

I can pretty easily affect my weight by controlling diet and I can change my physique with exercise.

Exercise goals:
Daily situps/crunches, push-ups (modified), cross leg lifts, dips, and some yoga moves for legs (warrior variations).

I will try to incorporate some walks in there too but it's so freakin hot where I live I can't exercise outside pretty much between 10am and 6pm. I would like to hit the pool to but with a toddler in tow I won't be doing any laps.

I'm in, too! I lost quite a bit of weight last year because I was on an elimination diet for DD3, but I've gained back 20 of those pounds. With the stress of school right now, the temptation to eat is pretty overwhelming, but I've been following the Instinct Diet to a large degree and have seen a drop in weight as long as I keep it up! But there's been one temptation after another, so I've been up and down over the past three weeks, with the final count of a loss of 3.5#. So for now I am: 180.0#, and at 5'4", my first mini goal is 155. After that, my final goal would probably be 130-135.

Five pounds has also been "too little" for me! Silly. So I added up what I would lose by the end of the year and was very happy with that number! Step by step...

Did 15 minutes on the trampoline today! I can tell already that this is going to be good accountability for me, when I actually have to report.

Oh, and I'm starting out the month at 188. I just weighed myself and was surprised that I've lost 2 more lbs! : That means I'm losing 2lbs/week.
Yesterday I bought my first scale and I weighed in at 10 pounds lower than at the doctor last week. So that can't be right. Oh well, at least I can see if I am losing or not. I know I haven't lost any additional weight because my pants fit the same as last week.

I'm heading out to go tanning:. I know it is horrible but it will make me feel smaller and keep my motivation up. After that my exercise will be mowing the lawn for 45 minutes with the push mower.

I'm happy to report 4 days in a row of staying in my calorie range (around 1600 cal) and exercising . I plan on only weighing in on the 1st of each month, so we'll see how it goes.

I am in again. I have lost a total of 37 lbs so far since Oct. I am now 145.4 and would like to lose about 5 more. I really really really want to get there this month.

So now I need to run more and bike to work if it is not raining. I am also changing jobs so I need to be careful with the new stress. I have been eating ok, but not great. I also need to get back to doing Yoga several times a week.

Here's to a great month for all of us!

I weigh in every Thursday night at our local fitness center. I'm going to start my 5 lbs from whatever my weight is tomorrow. I ran today and feel pretty darn good. I'm excited to find out my starting point

All scales are different, weigh yourself on the same scale at the same time when you weigh in.

It definitely helps to be consistant about the scales.

Somehow I have lost 3 pounds this week. That seems odd.
