mucousy poops meaning gel like instead of watery w/ seeds?

if so thats what we've had for 3-4 days or so. today i ate a bacon sandwich(bread and 4 slices of bacon) a hot dog, an ice cream cone, a taco and a chicken taco. i drank water (lots), one tea and one coke. i totally eliminated dairy before with no results. no veggies as they all seem to upset her tummy. Any ideas?

Also, I know it's not the healthiest diet, but what can I eat without veggies?? And how can I lose this 20 pounds? Any ideas?

oh yeah, on the smiles, on one of you ladies blogs I read that all smiles count, because they're smiling because they're feeling especially happy, regardless of whether they are purposefully doing it or not. That really resonated with me as I agree whole heartedly. I smile before I think about smiling when something makes me happy, so why can't our babies? It doesn't have to mean gas....

I feel like I'm barely reading and catching up the past few days!

Nora had a rough, fussy day today. And a new rash on her face and head. So I'm adding avocados to the fail list on the allergy challenge. I tried the ergo because it was hot and getting really sweating walking/bouncing her around in the wrap for so long. I don't have an infant insert, and she doesn't fit very well yet (I think she's close to 10lbs now, but still pretty petite).

I'm running with a friend tomorrow, starting the couch to 5K. I can't believe I did a 14K run in September- it feels overwhelming to get to that level of fitness again! Baby steps...

Tomorrow is also my 30th birthday. Please, please baby give me a calmer day as a birthday gift

I go for my post p check up today - oh fun
post #28 of 154
happy birthday melw!

We had a night where she literally screeched for 2 hours. Then called down for 2 hours before bed, but couldn't sleep until after midnight. We go for the 2 month check up today, i don't know whether to mention it again or he's just going to say it's colic. i just can tell she hurts. does colic make them screech in pain? The zantac is what finally calmed her down, but I only can give it twice a day for the reflux, and i did it a little before 12 hours to see if it would help. i just want her to feel good.

i wonder if i should try elimination diet again and see if something is bothering her now? she just all the sudden got a rash from detergent, so i wonder if its dairy now when it wasn't before???? is that possible?

i so feel for all of you with your bad days. bad days are so long and tiring and hard. i am literally exhausted and feel like i should sleep all day today, but i can't, she has her appointment and i have to get groceries and take ds to football camp and get dd1 and and and....

No time to read, it's a crazy week. Apparently I'm back to my regular schedule now. Julian smiled this HUGE smile last night and has been doing it this morning, but only at DH. I'm telling him that it's because he thinks daddy is funny looking.

I just needed to post this really quick!

Yesterday, I went to the house of an unbelievably selfless woman (from this board but I wont post her name, I dont want to embarrass her) and she gave me a TON of frozen breast milk! She thought it was about 80 oz but it turned out to be 110!!!!!!!::: It will literally feed Sophia full feedings for a week!!!

I am grateful and humbled by this amazing woman!!! I just needed to share my joy with you guys!

Thats great, and how good that you two were able to connect. It reminds me that I may as well build up a freezer stash b/c there are always babies that need it out there. It was so disheartening to throw out milk w/ DS, since I didn't know how to reach out to anyone who would want it (I offered it to one mom I was friends w/ IRL but she thought it was really weird and I felt I had made a major faux pas). Now I have mothering.com and my wonderful MW, and so I won't have to make that mistake again.

I know I am not alone in reading your posts about Sophia and thinking of her and sending good thoughts your way. How wonderful that another momma on here was able to do something so practical to help.

both my kids do. we cosleep at night and the baby is on her back or side (facing me) but I put her down for naps (in the living room or something) on her stomach sometimes.

once my son was really rolling well he flipped himself onto his stomach every time, so I just eventually put him down that way and decided not to worry about it.

It's the same for DS. He sleeps pressed right up close to me at night on his side or tummy. We've never had a problem...in fact, the couple of times he spit up in his sleep (in the hospital) he was on his back and I got worried. Apparently I slept on my tummy too...

So, I got poop SPRAYED all over me this morning. What a way to start the day, huh? Ugh, so gross. I swear he was laughing about it too!

I've also been feeling a bit ucky lately...nausea that comes and goes and just feeling off. I suspect mine is more stress related, though. My parents are hell.

Not much else to update from us...

Happy Birthday MEL!!!

Happy Birthiday, Mel W!

Tummy sleeping--We do it here, although I have alot of guilt about it. I kept ODS swaddled and on his back until 8.5 months. When we dropped the swaddle, he started sleeping on his belly, but he could roll, crawl, and pull up by then. At first, I just put LO on his tummy for any non-worn naps (which tends to be when ODS is napping so I can sit there and watch him). Now he often sleeps on his belly at night too, although last night he slept on his side pressed up against me.

Emma--Can you hold water down now? When I caught a tummy bug when ODS was an infant, I just layed on the couch with him and nused non-stop for about 8 hours. It kept my supply up and allowed me to lay all day.

milk sharing-- ODS didn't take a bottle and a good friend watched him for me for an hour when we were packing up to move from England to Alabama. He was hungry, crying, refusing solids, and the bottle that I sent with him, so she nursed him (she asked beforehand if that was okay with me). By the time I got back to him, he was nice and calm....and still more than happy to nurse again from me.

So, I had a disasterous outing this morning. My neighbor was doing storytime downtown. I ran an errand first, and got to the church about 15 minutes before storytime. I was worried about LO being hungry or tired (he won't sleep in the car and hadn't slept during the errand) so I nursed him before heading inside. I had LO in a sling and the 21 month old in a stroller. We got to the room for storytime and my toddler freaked out. He is really shy, but had been doing so much better as we usually did a playdate 2-5 days a week for my whole pregnancy.....but with LO's arrival, we haven't left the house much and I guess he regressed. He was screaming and bright red from embarrassment. I tried hugging him and holding him, but with LO on my belly, the toddler couldn't snuggle me close so he continued to freak out. I left and put LO in the stroller and was trying to put the toddler in the sling, but he was flailing and then LO started crying since he wasn't being held anymore. We caused such a commotion that someone from the Bible study next door came out to help me. She held LO while I got the toddler in the stroller and then put LO back in the sling. We are home now, but LO is beat as he only slept 4 hours last night and didn't sleep all morning.

I swear I am never leaving the house alone with them again.

geesh i havent posted here in a while. ive been busy! lo is such a mellow baby : . dd1 was quite a bit more er, emotional. so this is a nice change. bfing is going wonderfully. i must say the side lying is a wonderful thing! dd doesn't normally nap more than an hr, but if i lay down and nurse her to sleep she will sleep until i wake up myself! im guessing if i just laid there with her on my breast she would sleep maybe 3-4 hrs? she does this funny thing while shes nursing. she buries her face into my breast when i first latch her on, crosses her eyes, and goes "mmmmmm... mm..mm..mm,mm,mm....". all this while clutching to the upper and lower sides of my breast. she's a chubby little monkey too! we had the il's over the other day, an d fil kept asking when we "wean" her to formula. dh told him "no formula for this baby!". i was quite proud. the look on fil and mil's faces when i told them i would bf until baby was ready to stop was pretty funny too.

i am way into the cloth diaper addiction again. it was really bad with dd1, and it is increasing now with dd2. LOL. i had an interview yesterday for a nanny job and all i can think about is whether they will hire me and how long until i can order some more dipes .

lo has been smiling a bit more, and she grabs at my shirt when she wants to nurse. she also whacks me in the face with her chubby little hands. lol. im hearing more coos and aaaah's which i just love.

we are almost 9 weeks pp and i have still not been in the mood to dtd. i think i may have to give in here pretty soon for poor dh. im feeling touched out and tired after spending my day caring for the baby and dd1, who has some developmental problems. over all though i am very happy to be home with the kids, and hoping this babysitting thing works out so i can continue to stay home. im almost afraid to admit i feel some baby fever creeping on! not quite full blast yet, but know by the time this kid is a year old we are going to be in trouble, lol!

**racie, we have had outings like that, too. take whatever help you can get and don't feel bad about it. i had to haul older dd home from the farmers market last week as she threw a huge fit- and she is a 40 lb 5yo. we were getting some crazy looks! most people know it's a part of life with kids , and if it bothers some other people, that's their own problem!

I'm not worried too much about tummy sleeping, but I don't necessarily want to tempt fate. He just seeems so comfortable that way sometimes, and as part of my effort to get him to fall asleep on his own at night and for afternoon naps, I'd like to eliminate anything I can that inhibits the process.

He's not quite rolling over yet, but on the verge. I guess I'll try to wait. He doesn't spit up, so the back sleeping isn't an issue.

PS: Happy Birthday, MelW!
