I put Nora down for some tummy time while I got dressed this morning, and came back to find her asleep. I don't intentionally have her sleep on her tummy, but don't roll her over if it happens. I'm a tummy sleeper and tend to think it's bad for my back/neck because of positioning, so I hope my kids will sleep on their sides/backs.

I went for a run with a friend this morning. We're planning to do one run a week together, and try to fit in the other two on our own. Otherwise I'm just spending my birthday doing my usual stuff- laundry, groceries, etc. Luckily with a much more relaxed baby than yesterday.

Wow running...good for you! Tummy sleeping..I consider this everynight. We cosleep and LO is on side mostly smooshed next to me but occasionally ends up on back or tummy...she sleeps best on tummy, deep sleep. but I get nervous and sometimes flip her over. It shouldn't be surprisng she likes to tummy sleep as she does it all day long on me in the wrap or on me on the sofa or on me on the rocking chair! Back sleeping seems unnatural for them...but again I still panic.

DD1 has been trying today...I spent extra time with her yesterday playing some and doing a craft and reading books (asking comprehension questions) and this is the thanks I get today....makes me want to play hide and seek (LO in tow) and hope she doesn't find me... : It's terrible to think like that!:

went to my pp visit. I'm doing great and looking good down there! She talked about how great I did getting a 9lber out. She also mentioned how great it was for the nurses to see a natural birth, especially the younger ones who haven't seen it much.

I also had a disastrous outing! Tried to take the 3 youngest to a nature center, I parked in a lot where you have to trek thru the forest to get to the center, which was closed on a Tuesday!!! There was a cool new fenced in outdoor nature exploring area and it was open, so we checked it out & then trekked back to the car. Lo slept the whole time, but my 2 yr old kept jumping out of his car seat, unbuckling and giving me attitude. Finally got him in, yelled a little & went home. Then we had a hellish "quiet time" where I tried to catch some shut eye with the little guy and the other 2 were alternately fighting & jumping on the bed. My 5 yr old is homeschooled but we may be putting him in kindergarten in the fall, which could be a nice break or it could be awful b/c he is probably going to be in the principals office a lot! He is my big challenge, very smart, but needs constant stimulation or is pure mischief.

Murph, I'm glad your pp visit went well! Its always nice to get to that point & get there healthy & strong, that's awesome!

Running...Unless I'm being chased it will never happen . My method of exercise is putting the lo on and walking up a really big hill. I prefer the mei tai b/c I can keep the weight centered and closer, but right now I'm just starting out & use a wrap. I put on 55 lbs and have 20 more to go. It did take all of 9 months to get big so I know its a process. Of course I do wish I looked better for summer! I think this pregnancy was the last straw for my legs, they look tragic!

waves hand.....I lost all but 3 pounds.....and then put on 5 pounds. What is the deal with that? :

I realized that I have been wearing or touching YDS for 19 hours now (not counting the disasterous car trip to story time). The house is a wreck. I don't feel like bending over while wearing YDS to pick up after ODS.

Miriam is a daddy's girl..he gets way more smiles than I do, and I'm home with her all day! Although, she generally sleeps or eats most of the day... and she is usually awake and alert in the evenings!

This is my take on it too. I don't do it on purpose b/c of SIDS, but if she falls asleep on her tummy on my lap or on my arm, I'll put her down that way to avoid waking her. And a lot of mornings we wake up and she is on her tummy next to me in bed.

I had to fight off a UTI this past week, DS has a staph infection, and LO has her first cold. I called my midwife and had an actual list written out of everything I wanted to talk to her about. She is great... I feel much better having bounced everything off of her and gotten her thoughts on it!

Tonight we're going out for our anniversary. We're leaving DS with grandparents and taking LO.

My mom finished the sling she was making for me! I bought silver rings from slingrings.com, and printed out the instructions from maya wrap, and she made it with a really elegant black and grey fabric. I love it! It is soooo much better than the other one I had, which had padding and couldn't tighten up very well.

He's in a food coma, sleeping with his eyes open... and giggling.

She thought it was about 80 oz but it turned out to be 110!!!!!!!::: It will literally feed Sophia full feedings for a week!!!

I am grateful and humbled by this amazing woman!!! I just needed to share my joy with you guys!

Its my turn to give love to this ddc

I don't post as much as many of you, but I love this ddc. We are all different and yet everybody is so supportive of each other. Some of us need c sections and some UC'd, there are many other differences too & I love that we all respect each other and there is just such a cool bunch of women here. This was my 3rd pregnancy after loss, but the first time I was brave enough to join a ddc & I'm glad I did. Its so nice to be in the same boat with a new baby with so many mamas!

Happy Birthday, MelW!

Great sig, Nancy.

Lindsay, that's great about the milk.

DS did not sleep much last night, but decided to eat all night. I'm beat. Hope this night is better.

My LO's funniest moments are while in a deep sleep - he'll stretch out real big and let out the LOUDEST fart! hilarious I say....

I've been lurking and keeping up with y'alls updates! I just love hearing them and laughing and smiling through it all. I haven't posted much because, well baby is with her parents and life has resumed as normal for me. Sadly i believe my cycles are going to resume as well since i started weaning from the pump.

I wanted to 2nd liseux. I love this board and this ddc. Its a rad group of women and its been nice to have a place to share and come to. I also have to say it gave me the opportunity to meet one of our own who is local to me. And hopefully i've made another much needed mommy friend who is accepting of my life and parenting! I got to meet Lindsay and she is just as cool and awesome in real life as she is here. She just exudes happiness and peace. And i was totally blown away by her warmth and openess in a moment when i know i personally would be anything but that! She gave me a huge gift of helping me to find much needed closure with my surrogacy so i have to say a public thank you and point out that she is an amazing person and someone i truly look up to!

Love you all, keep up the great work mommas!

Woo. Z slept until 3am and woke up cd-soaked and famished.
I hate to say it, but I may have to slip a little cereal into my bm chaser.
I'm trying to hold out for two months, but his tummy just isn't satiated with even formula.

I'm convinced that if I was EBF, that he would be permanently attached to me.
Scary!

Believe me, I'm not interested in rushing the little dude, but Zack is so intense and sucks food right down his windpipe every time. I'm afraid to use a faster nipple... he'd eat way more than necessary and way too fast. Air bubbles are an issue as it is now!

And then trying to put him to sleep on his back afterwards... fail.
I have to help him pass some, first, and that's one reason night feedings take so long.
Bleh.

I had Nora in the wrap yesterday in a store, and the saleswoman just saw me from the side and saw her head covered by the wrap and said "I thought you had the biggest breasts I had ever seen on a small woman- then I realized it was the baby's head"

DS woke up at 2.30 am again. Then fed for 2 hours and fell asleep right next to me. Of course, he woke up as soon as I tried to get into a more comfortable position. Stayed awake for another 3 hours, fed again, and then went to sleep on DH. Total sleep for me: 4 hours, so this will be a cranky day, especially since I have to go in to see my counselor during my nap time.
