HELP!!! Took a 2nd test...

..andit was negative!

the details: tested positive w/1st response gold on saturday and got a +yes, this was onld 8dpo. I had no more tests but some coming in the mail from the internet I don't know how reliable the store is...and I tested @ 12:30 pm. I had been holding the urge to pee for a couple of hours because I thought they would come today..but i also drank a lot this a.m. It's 10dpo today.

Should I not drink and wait a few hrs and test agian w/the same batch? Or run to the dollar tree and buy more...and test today....or just wait until tomorrow?

also...I really feel preggo, bigger boobs (never happens w/af), dark circles, more emotional...esp. right now !!


added-just went to their web site....the first day they show any +s is day 11, so chill, right?

At 10 dpo you can't expect much... I tested at 11 dpo with FMU and it was VERY faint. I think you should test day after tomorrow with FMU. I'm waiting to test again until I miss AF.

Mandy - I'd say maybe try waiting a couple days. Or, if you're like me, you bought a bunch fo tests from online and can afford to test every morning. Either way, hang in there.

I agree with the others. It is still really early. FMU is always best, so try again in the am. I'll be looking for an update

If you can stand it, I'd wait until AF is officially late. I have never gotten a + until I'm at least a week late for AF. At least by that point, there isn't any room for questions or doubts.. but that's just me. The first time I thought I was pregnant, I tested so so much and all were negative and then AF was two weeks late. I was miserable the entire time. So for me personally, I have to wait until AF is late to save me the stress and emotions attached...

FRER picked mine up before the internet cheapies could. I'm still getting VERY light positives on the internet cheapies, but my FRER lines are BOLD

Internet cheapies and dollar store tests were the only thing I couldn't get a BFP on. And I was a BFP on everything but them at 7.5 DPO.

Could'a been a bum test too.

Too Early

it is very early to test with a regular pg test . The early detection tests are only a little over 50% accurate 5 days before your missed period (if you read the small print means 4 days before your period is suppose to start. I was taking the early detection tests every day and it did not turn + until the day before my period.

I wouldn't worry yet. Definately test first thing in the morning after getting adequate sleep. Hormones are always more concentrated in the urine in the am.

Someone once gave me the sage advice to pack all of my tests up and mail them to myself. By the time they came back I could test without it being too early and wasting them all

Go buy yourself a Clearblue Easy Digital - they cost the same as a FRER, and are just as sensitive - plus you get the awesome benefit of a digital "PREGNANT" (or "NOT PREGNANT") - no line interpretation dance. I'm 12 DPO and got a + from one today.

Such a good idea! I tested starting on 6 DPO and didn't get a BFP until the day AF was due.

Well I tested and it was a big old negative. So maybe I miscalculated o day or maybe it's too early or maybe my :cycle is longer than 28 days. If my cycle is 28 days than i am only 3 days from my expected 1st day of af. However, I've been charting for cm the past 3 months and my cycles have been 30-31 days. But my last cycle was 28 days so I've been assuming 28 days this month. If my cycle is lnger does it make sense that I don't have a bfp yet? Or is it only dpo that matters?

Also not positive when I o'd the day I suspect (day 15) I didn't have an O test (i had run out and decided not to spend the 20 $). The night of cd 14 I had the highest ewcm and by cd 15 ewcm was gone. So I've been counting day as 14 as o day. But I guess it's possible that o day was 15. What does anyone make of this? Basically, I'm saying that today COULD be 10 dpo and then I guess it would be expected to get a negative still.

I got a positive with the First Response Gold at 8 dpo...and, of course, continued to poas like a maniac the next couple days in excitement. I think I got four negative tests, including another FR gold. I seriously thought that first test must have been a false positive. At 12dpo I got a faint positive, 13dpo the line was slightly darker, and finally, a blaring positive the day after expected af.

I wouldn't worry too much, take a deep breath, and wait. It's so early and tests are so sensitive. Maybe wait until the day af is expected and try again with FMU? Good luck!
