I think we are also going to make a big batch of veggie chili and can that.

For frozen stuff we were going to make a frozen lasagna, macaroni and cheese, some loaves of bread, a veggie "meat"loaf or two, some veggie burgers. I am still trying to think of other ideas, maybe some stuffed peppers.

There's a couple recipes here: http://www.momsbudget.com/freezerrec...anfreezer.html
Here is the veggie meatloaf: http://busycooks.about.com/od/meatle...iemeatloaf.htm
Veggie burgers: http://busycooks.about.com/od/hotsan...gieburgers.htm
Great recipes! Thank you! I love veggie *meat*loaf. I am thinking maybe some big batches of cooked and seasoned veggies that we could just thaw and eat with rice would be helpful. Hopefully I will actually be this organized and get this done!

I just got back from shopping with MIL.. she got the boys a matching dresser and book shelf.. which is awesome!!! I've been using those little plastic portable dressers forever with DS and it will be so nice to have a real place to put his clothes, plus the baby clothes, and all the books we've collected over the years. :

I also started working on packing my bag for the birthing center. I have no idea what to bring.. change of clothes for both of us and what else? We won't be there long, just one day... so we don't need much at all.

I'm on the fence on if I want to bring cloth diapers yet or not.. I might just do sposies until the meconium passes...

Aaaahhh, I'm scared. : (Not that this is anything new from the last eight or so months...) Yesterday began the 50 day countdown to my EDD. I'm 33 weeks today.

Last week, boyfriend's work place held a surprise baby shower for us. They were very, very generous. Boyfriend is now rather overwhelmed (and just a little bit secretly excited), girlfriend was flabbergasted and touched, and I was reminded just how blessed we are.

I went and stayed with them over the weekend, and his parents have offered to let me move in. It's a generous offer, and I wouldn't have to say, "I don't want to go home," any more. I would have help after the baby is born. But their house is already small and cramped, and I know I won't see eye-to-eye with them on a lot of things I hold important. I could also mention how much drama it'll cause among the members of my family, but... that drama is inevitable. :

In better news, I learned that boyfriend is open to selective/delayed vaccination. : I was afraid it was going to turn into a huge debate like circumcision, but we had a calm discussion about it over lunch.

Still have lots to do to get ready. I'm just not feeling it today. *flop*

I can't believe how close we're getting now! I'm 35+3 today ~ eek! Somehow I've gotten myself convinced that this baby will be early, even though DD was induced at 40+6. I'm going to be sorely disappointed when I end up going past my due date again!

I feel the ladies who are having 2 close together...DD will be 21 months when this one is born, and I have NO idea what I'm going to do! I've been holding her for naps since she was born. I *can* lay her down, but not consistently and she just doesn't sleep as well. But, I guess I will figure it out soon! She did recently night-wean (all on her own!) and has been STTN since then. That has been amazing ~ she went from waking every 1-2 hours all night long, to waking twice, to not waking at all! And, she's still sleeping with us which concerned me before but not so much now We just have to figure out how to make our bed bigger to accomodate the new LO!

At playgroup yesterday my friends threw a small baby shower for me and one of the other moms who is due a week and a half before me, and they got us each a gift certificate for a 1 hour pregnancy massage. I am so so so so so excited!!!!! I've been getting more sore this time around, so it is extremely appreciated! DH is out of town this week, so I have to wait until next week to schedule it, though!

Thanks for the freezer meal ideas! I've been trying to make a list of ones to make, but wasn't coming up with much. I had totally forgotten about meatloaf! And, that's one of the foods that DD can and will actually eat (she can't have dairy or tomatoes, so that eliminates a LOT of casseroles).

Ok ~ that's enough for now ~ I need to go clean up my applesauce covered toddler

Starting to freak out a bit here! The first July baby shocked me (although what a great story) and I am feeling a bit underprepared. I have a long list of stuff to get done and waning energy supplies. The longer I am on my feet, the less I can accomplish. I'm still feeling great and am exercising but much slower now at 32.5w, especially with the heat. I am measuring ahead but my weight gain has slowed.

Our baby party looks like a no-go because our friends can't get it together although they have been getting me excited for the past 3 months.

On the bright side, my free maternity photo shoot happens this weekend so I feel very fortunate for that.

I need to NEST! I need to clean! I need to cook freezer meals! I need to sew/weave/bead/shop! Please someone send me the nesting vibes and inspiration.

Can anyone tell me if flying with a newborn is OK? We would go in October, less than 1000 miles (maybe <3 hours flight) so the babe would be about 10+ weeks old?

: Let the nesting begin!! I have so much to do, too, its almost scary!

Last baby I had to take to out west at 6 weeks old. It was about a 4 1/2 hour flight. The (extremely crunchy) doctor said that was fine because I was breastfeeding exclusively. I think the only reason to hesitate is because of the germs on planes, but if you are smart and wash your hands, keep the baby close to you, etc... you should be fine.

Happy photo shoot! Post 'em when you get 'em!

I agree that you should be fine with flying. Just remember to nurse during take off and landing to help with the pressure in baby's ears.

I haven't popped into the weekly chat threads before, so I hope you don't mind the intrusion.

I too, would like the nesting bug. I have in-laws coming this weekend for my ds's 2nd birthday, and our house is a cluttered mess. I just can't get the motivation to clean, mostly because it takes all my energy and then i'm worthless the rest of the day. I'm hoping for good weather this weekend so that the party-goers can spend most of the time outside, and not notice how much I fail at being a "housewife".

Another good vegetarian recipe I love is the "Addictive Sweet Potato Burritoes" recipe on allrecipes.com. It's super yummy, rather easy to prepare, and they freeze well too.

This one:http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Cuernavaca-Casserole
Has been a family favorite for years. I made it for the first time in 6th grade for a class presentation, and it's been in my mother's rotation ever since. My dh LOVES it- serve it w/ salsa and sour cream and it's divine. The description says it goes well with any bbq meat, but we've always served it as the main dish.

Ack, so I was hanging out with some friends today and I found out that one of them had DD3 one month prior to her edd!!! She was healthy and did just fine, but eeek, I guess it never really occurred to me that it might be a possibility. So, I think I am going to start washing up baby clothes THIS wk and need to set a goal for myself that the baby stuff needs to be ready by the end of June...

I think I am nesting half way here.. Although you wouldn't be able to tell by the looks of things. We just have No. Where. to put anything.. it's very frustrating, and causes me A LOT of stress. (It's DH's fault.. he has waaay too much stuff he won't part with to make room for the family).

I am 37 weeks in ONE WEEK!!! I've kind of hyped myself up a little bit about it, and decided to start getting ready NOW. I've pack our birth center bag, washed all the clothes and diapers, but I still need to get the furniture set up, make sense of my house and the clutter, do some frozen meals, make sure batteries are charged and cameras are good to go. Ugh.. seams like a lot. Most things I have to wait for the weekend to do, when DH will be home.

Wow am i the only really exhausted one? Getting through the day is tough! I wish i had the energy to clean and cook. I believe i am 36 weeks today or tomorrow. Saw the midwife and am cleared for a homebirth. She gave me all the birthing things i would need so now i just need to get my house in order. I wish i had a housecleaner to help out. My older son went to camp with his school today and it makes me an anxious mess. He is 3 hours away and i've never been away from him. But i want him to have the experience without knowing about my anxiety. gosh what do moms do when their babies leave home? Yikes! He will be fine, i know. I was doing great until they issued a severe thunderstorm warning for where he is. But i know he is still fine, they are in cabins on an educational farm. He will be back on friday. I need to enjoy one less child for a few days instead of stressing.

I cannot believe how tired I am! Not just a little sleepy, but not-sure-how-I -will-make-it-through-the-day, doggone tired. It is really the worst fatigue I have every had. I push, push, push myself to get things done and then complain like crazy about how hard it was!

I feel so bad for Ds. He has become extraordinarily clingy to me these last few days and I just don't have the energy to be carrying him around all the time. I think he can sense something is up, but he is really too young to understand what is happening. Its nice, though, to get all his little hugs and kisses all day long! :

My ds has been clingy too! The last couple weeks it's been getting worse. Last night as my dh was taking him up to bed, he's looking over his dad's shoulder crying for me. Just about broke my heart. Not that my emotions are stable or anything!

And yeah, I'm super-exhausted too, and I'm only 32 weeks! I really don't have the energy to do a whole lot.

I am SO with you girls who are exhausted. Exhausted isn't even the word for how I've been feeling. I'm sure it has to do with the fact that I haven't been taking my vitamins because all of a sudden they make me extremely sick. I need the extra iron, so I'm at least taking that.

I have everything washed and put away for the babies now, except I still need to wash the diapers & I'm waiting on 14 covers... and just got the swings in today so I need to wash those covers. The main thing I'm focusing on right now is trying to choose names! Ack! Do you all have names picked out?

So I am quoting myself here...

Like I said, for some reason I just have the "this baby is coming early" vibe, even with no reason to think so. I've been doing ok on getting the house in order ~ the diapers and covers have been washed, we've gotten neutral baby clothes washed and put away, I have gotten a couple of boy outfits in case this one is a boy (we have TONS of girl clothes already from DD), and I've started nesting ~ not crazy, but I've had spurts here and there (ie. the top of my refrigerator has been scrubbed ).

Well, last night, for the second or third night in a row, I've woken up with "round ligament pain". Except last night I realized that it's *not* round ligament pain ~ it's contractions! Like, real ones! I've been having a lot of BH contractions, but no real ones. I didn't have ANY real contractions with DD until I was induced a week past my due date, so I am not really sure what to think of this. They weren't super close together (5-10 minutes, lasting maybe 45 seconds), and I was able to fall asleep after a little over an hour. I was really trying to not time them so as to not freak myself out as DH is out of town until Friday so I CANNOT go into labor before then! Plus, I'm not yet 36 weeks (will be Saturday) so baby needs to STAY PUT! At least for a little longer. I need to call my midwife today to see what she thinks ~ most likely there is nothing to worry about and I will *still* go past my due date, but like I said, I've not had pre-labor contractions before so I'm not sure what this means. They were gone by the time I woke up this morning.

Oh, and my labor with DD was about 4 hours, start to finish (including 45 minutes of pushing, so 1-10cm in a little over 3 hours). So, ANY contractions freak me out a little as this one could come SUPER fast...

This is what we're working on now, too I don't think we'll have actually chosen a name until after the baby is born, which is strange to me as DD was named as soon as we knew she was a girl (and really, we had a boy name and a girl name picked long before that, too).

We have a spreadsheet with name possibilities and they are ranked by popularity (super-popular names lose points, more unique names earn points ), by how much DH likes the name, and how much I like the name. I also have the name meaning in the spreadsheet and was going to include some sort of ranking with that, but decided that made it too complicated. I'm guessing that we'll choose a totally new name once the baby actually arrives!

My ds has also become very clingy lately and pretty much only wants to do things with me or if he is doing something with daddy, I have to be right there watching. We just switched his daycare schedule this week so that he is only going 3 days a week. Now that I am in the "safe" zone my midwife doesn't have a problem with me having him home and chasing after him if need be. It's also some time that I want to spend with him before the new baby gets here.

Sending you some stay put baby vibes! :

I had a good surge of energy this morning -- I was up and dressed and had a load of laundry in the dryer by 9:30. Unfortunately, now I'm crashing. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted. Hopefully it'll come back later so I can get through grocery shopping.

I'm feeling a lot more prepared (materially) this week. My "to buy" checklists are shrinking, thanks to the generosity of my adopted family and total strangers. Now if only I could be more emotionally prepared, I'd feel 100% better.

Mom called yesterday. "What do you hear from [the couple]? You haven't talked about them much lately." Uhm. Maybe because I'm completely intimidated by you after your blow up last month? What I actually said was, "I didn't know how much you wanted to hear about." I'm not even comfortable talking to Dad about them, anymore. They don't know about the boyfriend's baby shower -- and they certainly don't know about his parents' offer to move in. Conflict with my third of the family is so inevitable that I'm not even going to factor it into my decision. Ugh.

Yes, super exhausted here too.

We had our name picked out, almost from the beginning, but when an aquaintance of mine named her son the same name I started to question it, and consider another name. But, I still love the name we picked out at first, and really feel like it is him.. although we are still waiting to meet him to decide for sure.

I've been having the same feeling.. so we might have June babies after all.. DS went to 41 weeks though, so I really have no reason to think this one will be earlier than 40 weeks.

That's a very scientific way to name the baby, how cool!
