May '09 DDC Weight Loss Accountability Thread!

So whether the weight is from this pregnancy or pregnancies from the past, lets lose it together!

I went from 137-174 with this pregnancy
I am down to 150 at 5 weeks PP
My goal weight is 135.

I'm doing very very light exercise (walking, and incorporating light weights)
and today I started tracking my food at babyfit.com. Thats the ONLY way I can lose weight, is if I weigh and track my food. Its a pain at first but kind of becomes an addiction!!

Yea, yea, yea - alright! I'll go exercise and check in later. I guess I'd better get some groceries, so I have the ingredients for my green smoothie for breakfast instead of leftover pizza! It WAS homemade with lots of yummy veggies!

Yay!!! Definitely needed.

I went from 137 to 189 (the night before I went to the hospital).
I'm 162 at 2.5 weeks PP.
My goal is 134.

Right now I am not doing anything to lose, except breastfeeding. Once the bleeding slows down and some of my soreness goes away, I'll start doing daily yoga, plus walking w/ the girls. Am really REALLY hoping that losing the baby weight this time will not take a whole year like it did w/ DD1. And it took me another year to lose the extra 10lbs I had at pre-pg with #1. This time I started out skinnier and gained more (depressing, I thought it would work the other way). During morning sickness, I got down to 128 which felt...amazing. I would love to be there again. But...I'll be happy at 134.

Good luck ladies! Hope this will help! And maybe be less depressing than the "how much weight have you *gained* so far?" thread. ;-)

: to not doing anything but breastfeeding at the moment! We'll be out walking in a few weeks, a nightly routine before bed to wear out DD, but not much else planned in the near future.

I was 165 before DS, 207 before delivery and back down to 180 already. I was 180 before DD and my goal is to be back below 150, but we'll see! I'd be happy to get back to 165 really, though I'd be healthier at 145.

pre-preg-- 125
preg-- 183
at 6 weeks pp-- 147
goal-- 125

22 pounds to go, but a good start already, considering i gained SIXTY FRICKIN POUNDS!
Pre - 130
Preg - 182? I'm going to guess
2 weeks PP - 161
Goal - 130

I really do nothing but chase kids and breastfeed for weight loss, I've struggled with packing on weight and not being able to lose it for most of my adult life and breastfeeding has been the only thing to help me lose. With DS I dropped the PP weight and another 25lbs. that I desperately needed to lose so I'm hoping I can do it again this time around.

I'm in! I've used www.myfooddiary.com in the past and love it...I may subscribe again, only $9 for a TON of tools. I like it better than spark people and you can add your own foods, enter labels, track measurements, mark that you are nursing, and it'll tell you how much to eat each day to lose __ lbs a week.

Prepreg weight: 184
Weight before birth: 232
Current weight: 205
Goal weight: 160

I used to want to be 150 but 160 is more reasonable, and I know I'll look healthy (and be healthy). I'm 5'6".

I'm thrilled that I've already lost almost 30 lbs but need to get the eating in check. I've had too much pop and ice cream lately and actually gained a couple pounds . I've had a walk most days though and am working up to a higher exertion (or exertion period lol). I'm 4.5 weeks pp.

What are you all doing for core strength at this time with the separation of the ab muscles from pregnancy?

I'm going to move this to our weight loss forum and will add May '09 DDC to the title.

So subbing to this thread.

I gained 40 with this pregnancy. I was 137 went down to 122 with morning sickness and went back up to about 160. I don't own a scale but maybe will try to weigh myself somewhere tomorrow. Won't be an official weight, I will get that at the midwife when I go for my 6 week check (same scale and all).

I need to get down to at least 120. It's the minimum for healthy for me and I have tons of energy then.

Great idea and thanks for starting the thread. I need all the help I can get!

I'm in!

Pre-pg- 155

Pg- 190

4 wks pp- 169

Goal wt- 135

I was the exact same end weight with DD, and was down to 138 when she was about 9 months old. Unfortunately, I gained almost 20 pounds back before conceiving DS, so started the pregnancy overweight once again.
My 10-yr reunion is coming up this fall, so that's a motivator for me!

The nice thing about having two kids now is that I have a hard time getting time to eat at all, let alone the perpetual all-day snacking that tends to be my downfall.

I am terrible about tracking food, but I'm focusing on making each meal healthier/ smaller portions. Need to start a real exercise routine other than constant babywearing though.

I've got some definite abdominal separation going on, so I've been doing some of the Tupler technique exercises for that, whenever I remember. There's a thread somewhere on this board about it.

Totally! 'Cept I've got 4. I don't even sit down anymore.

I need to weigh myself next week at the birthcenter. I have no clue where I'm at. I want to be back down to 115. I was 110 before M, but that was at 21. I don't expect to ever see that again!
And lest you think I'm anorexic or something, I'm barely 5'2" and have small bones. I look obese over 120.

Yeah, I'm so overwhelmed with 2, so I have no idea how those with more survive. I guess I'll find out when we have more!

I'm in!

Pre-pregnancy: 125
PG: 160
Goal: 125
3 weeks pp:138

I am walking several times a week and am getting the itch to run. But I really need new shoes and a good running bra to fit my H+cup size. I also have to pump before I run so I don't get sore . I hope DD settles into a feeding schedule that gives me some more time, she snacks all the time and its hard to get out of the house! I'm doing some ab exercises and push ups.

I am trying not to snack on carbs or sugary desserts, hoping through exercise I can lose it.

My biggest reason for wanting to get back to goal: I don't want to buy new clothes.

My goal is 145. I don't know exactly what I weigh right now. My scale needs a new battery!

I danced for 20 minutes tonight. Whew! That 20 minutes took it out of me. I am still not healed up, so I guess I'd better be careful not to overdo it. That would be counter productive! I also need to get out my Eat to Live book and reread it for some motivation!

I have been trying to subscribe to this thread but the 'thread tools' doesn't get me anywhere!

I'm totally in.

OP- my stats are almost identical to yours. I was 135 pre pregnancy and around 170ish end of pregnancy.

I'm 3 months pp and I'm at 140. My goal is 130!!

I need to start tracking calories! I have used fit day in the past, but I will check out the other sites that ya'll mentioned!

Just curious, how many calories are you guys aiming for?

I'm shooting for around 1500.

it's so hard to exercise when you have a baby wanting to nurse all the time!! I didn't want to buy new clothes either!

Samantha- I think 1500 is way too low if you are also nursing. Babyfit.com has me at 2060-2360 calories since I am nursing. When not nursing I can lose weight eating 1800 calories a day (and working out at a high intensity 30m a day)

I'm finding it hard to eat that many calories though.

I've found that around 1500 cals is a good number for me. Although I haven't counted in a long time, so I could be eating more or less than that. I don't generally count, I just eat when hungry.
