anyone think about their kids' astrological sign? - Page 2

there is a lot more to astro charts than sun signs..as many of you know. Astrology charts usually run in families.
In other words... A husband can a have a moon in virgo and a virgo child will pop up...or a mom can have pisces rising and a pisces child will pop up. Even if the mom is a sag which normall doesn't get along with virgo..but because of the husband's moon in virgo...there's the kid.

The thing is that there are some sun signs that just really need a playmate and they usually generate one in the family. From my own research I would say the two biggest playmates are Sag and Gemini. Usually where there is one there is the other. Or if they don't get the other they get another one of themselves..two gems in a family, or two sags... but the opposites are very popular.... For example for those old enough to remember... frank sinatra was a sag. Nancy sinatra is a gemini. President kennedy was a gemini and he was desparate to hang out with frank..the sag.

I'm a sag and my mother is a gemini. I of course have a best friend who is a gemini... this opposite team just really gets each other.

The next one that really happens quite a bit is Taurus and Scorpion. You guys always seem to pop up in each other llives and families.

also, fire and air signs really get along....aries,leo,sag =fire.... gemini, libra, aquarius= air.

earth and water traditionally get along....cancer, scorpio, pisces get along with earth=taurus, virgo, capricorn.

as for kids.... I know my own son's chart very well. In fact my friend brought it to me at the hospital when he was born.
I use it to help me. For example he has got an aspect and I told my husband "we've got to work hard when that starts to show up." And sure enough, it is really up now......
I cut him some slack because I know he's got this aspect and he's got to work it out and right now he is so young it is only come out as temper issues. but eventually it will come through in another way and I have to remain patient.

just to give any of you moms a heads up. This aspect my son has... all children born the summer of 2001 have in their charts. To give you an idea how strong this aspect is..... this is the aspect that astrologers all over the world were worried about in terms of religious wars... it was center in July and August 2001. Of course, the aspect was exact then..but the ramifications of the aspect occured a bit later..... september 2001.

there is a very gifted astrologer who will work with parents and their kid's charts...she cuts her rate because she knows the aspects so many children have been born with in the last couple of years and she knows that some of us have our work cut out for us.

I'm going to get my son's chart done by her when he is a bit older so I'll know more about how this concentrated energy that he has isl manifesting.....

anyway, here's the astrologer.

Here's her link:

by the way, my great grandmoter was an astrologer, my grandmother was an astrologer and my mother practices astrology. and saying all t hat........ and the above... I still let my child be what he wants..it is more for me.

I thought about it a fair bit while I was pregnant with Eli. I remember discovering that I was pregnant, estimating a due date and realizing that even if I was two weeks late, ds probably wouldn't be a Capricorn. I was relieved, as my entire life I have had difficult times with Capricorn men (starting with my father and currently down to my sister's boyfriend). I am Libra/Capricorn/Capricorn, so while I have many physical features of Capricorns (dark skin for a white person, very large & heavy bones, extremely muscular build) I move a lot more quickly (mentally) than Capricorns are wont to.

Mike is a Scorpio, and so is Eli. I get a little frustrated that the fires I want to light under Mike's behind take so long to get lit. :LOL

I have a really fun book called "The Birthday Book" and I looked up my son's due date before he was born and his actual birthdate after he was born. Basically what I saw was a child who'd need to be parented the way I intended, and who would likely be a strange goth kid when he got older. I thought "How could he not be, with parents who are just waiting to buy him his first set of dice and a godfather already eager to warp his little mind?" :LOL I haven't yet looked up the new bean's EDD; no time.

I'd love to have charts done for all of us, if just to read them and put them away (I too am concerned about self-fulfilling prophecy). A friend did a chart for me a while back, and it was eerily accurate... but I haven't seen him in years. I wonder if there's a WAHM who does them fairly inexpensively around here? Would I post that question to crafts, spirituality, or the trading post? :LOL

It sure seems that the everyone's opinion of Scorpios isn't too high here. :LOL

I'm a scorpio myself and love it and think of it often. Intense, passionate, misunderstood, jealous, possessive, emotional, sensitive under a cool facade, moody....you get the drift.

I'm not married but all of my ex boyfriends and past crushes have been earth signs. Lots of virgos. A very significant Taurus (never again!). And a capricorn. In general my relationships (friendships as well) with earth signs work so well. I'm the sea to their shore. They give me stability. I give them emotionality, movement....

And then I had one boyfriend that was a Cancer. I do get along more so with water and earth signs especially. I don't get along well with fire and air signs.

I think that when I TTC, I would be happy to have a healthy baby regardless...but it would be nice to stick to the water and earth signs. I don't do air signs.

And then, you know what they say about water and fire signs. We, water signs, put out their fires. Heh.

For those of you that say that you dont understand much about astrology. It helps to know some about the four groups of signs.

Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) are typically very practical, analytical, reliable, loyal, firm like the earth, sometimes rigid.

Air signs (Gemini, Aquarius, Libra) are more free spirits. Airy-like. Artsy. Talkative. Communicators.

Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) are strong-willed. Stubborn. Fire-crackers. Passionate.

Water signs (Scorpio, Cancer, Pisces) are emotional, motherly, sensitive, emotional, nurturing, ever-changing and moody like the tides of the sea. Did I mention emotional?

I'm a Capircorn, dh & ds are both Taurus. I know that I'm supposed to get along well w/Tauruses, but do they get along w/each other?

And yes, I thought about it while pregnant just because I know that Tauruses are stubborn and didn't know if I could handle another one!

:LOL I remember reading in a book (a fairly well-known one, but I can't remember the title) that many people think that libra children are stubborn because they appear indecisive [she actually used an example which caused me much misery in my own childhood--trying to decide which sock should go on which foot first] when in actuality they just have to weigh every aspect of every decision they make before they come to a conclusion. She said "Libra children aren't stubborn, they just take a long time to make up thier minds. Taurus children are stubborn." It was sort of tounge-in-cheek, and very funny .

Kylix, it's not that I have a low opinion of scorpios... quite the contrary, I love my husband and son and Mike at least is the archetypal scorpio. There are just certain aspects of him which really get to me, and some of them happen to be particularly watery traits. As a libra, these things are bound to frustrate me.

It's capricorn that I have gone out of my way to avoid. Libra women and capricorn men, in my experience, just don't get along. I have yet to encounter one that I could deal with in a productive way; frequently, there is outright animosity between us. It's so bad that after 5 or 10 minutes of talking to a capricorn man, I can *tell*that they are, in fact, capricorns. It freaks skeptics out when I suddenly narrow my eyes and say "Your birthday is in the last week of December, isn't it?" :LOL I will do everything in my power to avoid concieving in March or April so that I don't have to deal with a potentially male capricorn child. I'd lose my mind, I'm sure.

Sam is Leo with Sagittarius rising and his moon is in Taurus.

Gabe is Taurus with Virgo rising and his moon is in Cancer.

I am Pisces with Leo rising and my moon is in Gemini.

I don't know exactly what all this means, but I think we are all pretty much like our sun signs at least (DH is Taurus but he doesn't know his TOB so I don't know his other info).

I use www.astro.com to do my charts. It is free and they are pretty accurate. You can do kids charts on there as well.

And trying to make my mother understand that forcing obendience can sometimes kill a child's spirit.
Oh my! There is only one of me, and I can't imagine a houseful! :LOL
I am an Aries, the last day or two, before Taurus.
Dh is a Gemini, and a twin!
Dd is a Virgo..detail oriented, extremely creative and sensitive.
Ds is a Leo...stubborn, adorable and a little lion with a mane of curly blonde hair. Very gregarious and happy.

I think astrology is great, and would like to learn more. I appreciate all the info. you guys are giving and will use some of the links. Thanks!

Me- aries sun/libra moon/sag rising
Dh- cancer sun/gemini moon/cancer rising
Ds- scorpio sun/taurus moon/capricorn rising
Dd- leo sun/aries moon/scorpio rising

We are all very different, but we each have what the others lack so it works for us.

When I was pregnant with ds, I hoped he would be early. Yes, I was afraid of having a Scorpio only b/c they are so different from me (altho each ruled by mars before the discovery of pluto) and, of couse, their reputation. Anyway, he is an intense kid, but totally reponsive to love and has the soul of an artist.

With dd I really didn't care what she was, as long as it wasn't water (hey- this aries girl was drowning!). We did avoid ttc at various times. Her chart is way more than I bargained for but it seems her intensity is in a really fun, good-natured way. I do relate with her personality a little more, but ds inspires and amazes me.

I have NO earth or water in my chart. It is a fact that saddens me as I would love to be a creative earth mama- fortunately my family balances me. As for the aries-cancer romance, I think b/c we love and respect the parts of us that are different (rather than trying to change e/o) it actually works really well.

It is a great site!

Does anyone know about astrocartography? We are really struggling with *place* right now and I would love some insight on where we should be.
