annettemarie: I had lots of cramping in the first trimester with my daughter. It was awful.

Thanks for the hugs ladies...

It ebbs and flows most days. Today was just a really bad day. This particular pregnancy wasn't planned or desired at the moment, which is what makes me feel the worst. Every baby deserves to be wanted. I was just finally starting to feel like my life was on a good solid track and now its been thrown into complete chaos and turmoil on my side of things yet again. I'm just having a bit of trouble (or more than a bit...) getting past these same feelings.

DH never helps because he turns everything around to be about him. I don't even think he realizes he does it. So I'm completely shut off towards him. I have no desire to share how I feel with him.

Hopefully something will give and get better. Even if its small. Because this is the same rate I was going before and I felt that a crash was inevitable at that rate. Not only would that be hard on my family, but I feel like it would truely send me into a place I fear I wouldn't get out of.

I'm trying to take it day by day so I don't overwhelm myself.

My skin is breaking out and it's not fun. Also, I have an aversion to two of my favorite foods- green veggies and Dark Chocolate.

About a week ago I had a night of cramping too. I also had several episodes of cramping with my last baby, enough that I was sure I was going to miscarry... and she is 2.5 today!

I know it can be perfectly normal. I lost my first, and the first trimester is always stressful for me. I'm having a homebirth but have actually thought of signing up with an OB/Midwife the first trimester, just to be sure my progesterone and stuff is OK.

I lost my first, too. DD's first trimester was so hard. I think this time around it will be easier. But that's easy to say now. One day at a time.

I am only 12 DPO and got my BFP today! Right now I have the most wonderful feeling in my womb- I guess some people refer to it as pulling. I am so happy to be here (cautiously optimistic still!) as I have wanted to be pregnant for years and this is my first ever pregnancy!

The nausea, tiredness, crankiness, and weird intense pregnancy dreams are officially here!
post #171 of 303
Nausea kicked in with a vengence yesterday around 6 PM and hasn't really subsided since. In a way, I am happy because it tells me things are progressing well but I feel absolutely horrible. I have only been able to bread, mashed potatoes, and saltine crackers... I feel like I'm not getting enough nutrients like this though. I am craving grilled cheese or macaroni and cheese for dinner so let's see if I can stomach those...

I can only describe the awful feeling in my belly as stomach rot.... anyone else?
post #174 of 303
Sounds about right, beccabus.

I spent the day dizzy, crying, puking, and sleeping, not necessarily in that order. Oh, and making deals with God that I wouldn't complain about any of it, as long as the baby was just alright. Sometimes I think I am too tightly wound for a first trimester.

All I've "eaten" today is a third of a smoothie my husband brought home for me. Now I'm hungry for... something. But I just. don't. know. what.

It must really suck to live with me.

* Peeing like a racehorse... that just drank an entire trough of water.
* Complete and total lethargy.
* Contraction-y uterus... I like the feeling though.
* Hungry like the wolf... in every sense of the phrase.
* Nauseated feeling when hungry or full... never during eating which is a plus. Drinking ginger beer helps (and is delicious... unlike ginger ale, which just makes me gassy).
* My hair and skin colors have darkened about two shades.
* Bloated/poochy belly.
* Leaking.
* The dynamic duo: constipation and 'riods. I was hoping they wouldn't rear their ugly heads so soon, but alas, no luck.
* Footaches when I haven't been on my feet that much.
* Headaches when I haven't been on my head that much.
* Crying at Golden Girls reruns and State Farm commercials.

4 wks
(really 2 weeks though- why can't it just be called what it is?! minor parenthetical rant- do they add 2 weeks to the due dates because they think women can't figure out when they ovulated? But then for those of us who ovulate differently than CD 14- I ovulate on CD 23- it makes no sense to count it by the last period- so I call it 2 weeks but they call it 4!)
- strong vivid dreams
-pulling in the womb and some light cramping
-hungry
-tired more easily
- thinking as of today breasts are growing and small bit of veins showing
-sense of excitement!

I think the nausea is starting for me. I need to eat but my stomach just feels blah. It's a very uneasy feeling. Like on the verge of puking. I know I need to eat (I totally skipped dinner) but I just can't get myself to do it. I was in the car today and had a thought about salisbury steak and nearly tossed my lunch. Yuck.

My full-on nausea seems to be limited to my ILs house where FIL smokes (outside, thank goodness). It's the only thing that gets "supernosed," so I can't hardly stand to even hug him anymore. And then, on top of that, I know how toxic just being near him is, so I get a little panicky about the baby. I'm not sure how this is going to go when we move in with them next month. Wish us luck.
Also, I forgot to add my main symptom: DH's nausea. Yes, poor guy, he gets sick for me after every meal. This happened last pregnancy too - he developed an avocado allergy. Then, when I got pg, his body quit tolerating wheat!! How ridiculous! Fortunately since the BFP it's been lightening up for him.

SJSBates -- you crack me up!
I'm pregnant with my first -- due around Feb 19th -- I will post an official due date once I see the doctor next week.
However, the "Crying at Golden Girls reruns..." just made me laugh out loud! I am NOT a basketball fan, NOT a sports fan in particular, and I just cried yesterday watching the Los Angeles Lakers Rally after their National Championship -- I was totally weepy!

Here's to happy, healthy, pregnancies!!!
