So what do you need to get in the next 9 months?

It seems like even though this is our third we still need so much!
  1. Clothes (if it's a girl we're okay on newborn, we'll need bigger stuff, if it's a boy we're screwed. I gave my SIL every blue/green gown, onsie, sleeper, etc I had before her house burned down...taking all my clothes with it...she was having a girl but wasn't picky, just wanted clothes).
  2. Boppy (some hate these, I LOVE them)
  3. Carseat (my SIL has my infant seat, she's pregnant again but I'm probably taking it back anyway, we don't have the money to replace it. She and her bf work full time, don't have health concerns coming up or medical bills, they can buy their own)
  4. Diapers (size small at least, if it's a girl we're good on mediums, if it's a boy we'll need mediums/large)
  5. All that medical junk, nose sucker, baby brush, gloves, etc

Then eventually we'll need another kitchen chair (we have 4) and another space saver high chair (DD will only be 2.5 she'll still need the booster at least) and a convertible car seat. DS is 4.5 but still fits well in his Marathon, I don't look for him to outgrow it in a year (he still has 30lbs and 10 inches) so we'll need a new one. Oh, and a dresser, better diaper storage...I think that's it.

We have a swing, a bouncy chair, a crib, a playpen, and a bunch of carriers so we're good to go there.

maternity clothes, baby clothes, diapers, carseat, baby blankets.

Let see:

Car
Car Seat (Hopefully skip the infant seat and just go straight to the convertible. I think it will force me to use my wrap more)
Boppy
Clothes (Boy or Girl because I've gotten rid of all we had that doesn't fit the kids)
Ring Sling or Pouch for quick in and outs (I have an Ellaroo Wrap and a Moby)
Swing
Bottles for when I go back to work(think I'll go for some small glass ones)
*Possibly* a new Breast Pump
Blankets
Diapers and accessories (I at the very least need some covers because mine look rough after two boys and pins/snappis. I'd also like some one size dipes for babysitters)

Pretty much everything...I'm having my sisters throw a shower because I have nothing.

* new boppy (we love them!) and both of my kids have gone through two each.
* clothes (I have some but nothing for a cold weather baby)
* cloth diapers (want to try something different this time for smalls)
* new carseat for DS (moving him to the Britax Frontier, baby can have his Decathlon)
* Moby Wrap and maybe a new ring sling (I am set with SSCs for an older babe)

If it's a boy, then clothes and a couple of boy baby blankets.
Other than that, pretty much all we need is a carseat. We'll actually get a Marathon for dd so she can rearface longer, and use the Boulevard for the new baby.
I'm one of those people who must feel prepared for every and all situations, and I knew we were having more kids, so we've hung on to pretty much everything that's been useful.

If it's a boy, clothes
More newborn sized diaper covers
And I really want to get one of those car seats that go up to like 60 lbs rear facing - but I'm not sure I *need* it
A new mattress

*Swing- I have 4 other children and homeschool, so I'll need to have somewhere to place the baby!

*Sling- I didn't care for the sling I had w/my last baby

*Clothes- just for fun!!!

*Boppy

*Swaddle blankets- I had one w/my youngest that was already pre-swaddled and you just put the baby inside!

Not a whole lot, it seems.

Everything! My ds is 9 1/2 years old now. I have nothing from then except a few mementos.

Everything, it is my first!!! I am moving to Germany in three weeks and my MIL told me to buy the stroller and a bunch of big things so that the army movers will move it for us. I feel that it is WAY too early to buy all that stuff and if something happens, God forbid, I will be incredibly depressed unpacking it in August when it finally arrives.

I can understand what MIL is saying though. Prices in Germany will probably be more expensive and shipping from here to there $$. If you want something in particular that might be heavy to ship buying it now and having the army movers ship it for free is really smart.

I also understand how you would feel if something *God forbid* should happen.

Thats a tough one.

I know... I think we are going to go to Babies R Us to just look at strollers and car seats and all that... I feel like German's make good things, have healthy babies and all that, would it be so bad to buy a German made car seat?

I don't think so! I was just looking at it from a money standpoint. The only thing I would suggest is making sure its a 5-point harness and not a 3-point harness on the carseat. And if there's a particular brand you are going to want I would make sure they have it available over there so you don't get stuck having to pay shipping and customs costs.

A bigger house!

Some more dipes. I got some tiny tush in the last co-op here and we LOVE them. But I think I'll need more for an infant. I don't think my son will be out of dipes by the time babe is born

I think I'll try my hand at knitting some wool longies & sewing a few little newborn kimonos.

Other than that.......I think I'm pretty much set.......maybe some maternity tops.

A king size bed! I hope to cosleep for longer this time, if babe needs it, but even if not, it would be nice to have more space for nursing at night, etc.

If it's a boy, nothing much as we have all that.

If it's a girl, nothing because my friend is sending all the stuff from her girls!

Oh, we will need a new carseat for babe.

I got rid of MOST of the gender specific baby clothes, and I have a box of newbornish gender neutral stuff, so I am fine on the clothes until babe is born. I am considering not finding out in the u/s since this is our last bio baby, otoh, if it is a girl, dp will ECSTATICALLY hit EVERY baby boutique in town, so I don't know- haven't decided I guess.

I have a moses basket- which I always wanted. It is white and mint and natural.
I have a high chair.
I have newborn diapers- will have to check on the condition of the covers, though.
I will need a new car seat and some work quality nursing clothes. Since I am due in Feb, I don't think I will have enough leave to make it through the whole spring semester, so I will probably be pumping at work until May.

Oh! I will need bottles and breastmilk bags. We used the wide mouth nursers with our last babies, and liked them, but I am pretty sure they have bpa, so we will need some new ones.

washable breastpads.

We had everything we need basics-wise, but it's in Florida in a storage unit and we're in California! We moved here for a temporary job that turned permanent. So, we have to go move our stuff here. All of my maternity clothes are out there as well, so I'm going to have to do some purchasing in a couple of weeks to tide me over! Oh, and we just have boys...if we're going to have a girl, I'd like to have a few girly things.

This is my first as well so I need almost everything! I have a lot of baby clothes that I "collected" over the past few years (all on sale of course...hehe) but I do not have any of the big items.

Not much, I think. We still have our infant car seat, swing, slings/wraps, nb dipes/covers...Because of the seasonal difference of this pregnancy and birth (DS was born in June) I'm thinking I might need some seasonal maternity clothes and definitely some newborn warm stuff - DS lived in little kimono shirts and diapers for like the first month. I'm thinking that might not fly in February in Seattle.

If it's a girl, I'm sure my relatives (esp my mom - good lord) will shower us with girly things. I swear, I don't think I've purchased more than 10 items of clothing for my DS, my mom is always picking up something for him! Now if only I could get her to start ordering us cloth diapers....
