nephew circ complication :( - Page 2

I just googled double frenulum and couldn't find a single picture of it in the whole big wide internet. IF this condition is real, it must be SO rare, a ped should have NEVER circ'd without consulting a urologist at first. If it were me, legal actions would be a must. Dave is a MDC-er and a lower specializing on this kind of cases.

So sorry for this little one. I hope the mother gets up her courage to realize what was might have happened and seriously questions the situation and the dr who did this.

I'm not understanding this? My understanding is that pretty much the opposite that typically the frenulum is removed. I only know of one pro-circ person online who specifically insisted (after her research) to leave the frenulum.... almost every other pro-circ person would be horrified at the suggestion of leaving the frenulum intact. That would be considered an 'incomplete and useless' circumcision.

Perhaps today's 'looser' circumcisions do tend to leave the frenulum intact, but many parents don't want a loose circumcision and that isn't what people are 'used' to (ie) it won't look like daddy). I wouldn't be able to guess at the percentages here, but I wouldn't think we have gone completely from one extreme (tight circs) to the complete opposite (leaving frenulum intact)??

I'm assuming that to leave the frenulum intact, you'd have to leave some of the foreskin, too?

I think this dr ended up performing the circumcision and needed an excuse to cover the result.

These days lots of doctors do loose circ, leaving frenulum uncut

I think it is starting to become widely known that the frenulum is a very important part for sensation. Now if only they'd explore the rest of the foreskin.

Back to the OP. Yes they would not be able to tell if he had 2 frenulums unless they forcibly retracted him first. Thing is that if they left him alone I bet he would have grown up to be just fine. Penises tend to take care of themselves with sexual maturity.
